AP...With A Career Night!

Alex had the tools. It is the consistency that had always been his problem . I am already wondering what he will do in the next game after the career night he had tonight .

That post game interview says everything. He's gonna have to fall in love with the grind.

First 5 games for Alex Poythress as a Kentucky Wildcat........ 8 points, 22 points, 20 points, 22 points, 20 points. He averaged 7 rebounds a game those first 5 games. He really is an enigma. Like some did with WCS, you kind of have to question his love of playing the game. Undoubtedly, he loves the game, but does he love to play it. I think he does.

The thing about Alex is when he does have games like this, he makes it look so easy. Then, in the past, he's unfortunately followed them up with a 4p 2 reb, 4 foul game. Hopefully that won't happen this time.

He played good in first half not so great in 2nd..he looks like he would rather be doing else but playing basketball

Must be the photoshop thread.....

Well we have MSU, AU, ARK, and Missouri in the next 5 (Vandy the other) so he has ample chances to have more good games and build confidence. I seriously doubt thoe 4 bad to mediocre teams have much to stop him. Vandy will be a big challenge though for Poy and Lee.

AP responded the way a veteran should. Historically, has always deferred to better players - Noel/Goodwin; Randle/Young; Karl/Willie.

Now, he has to perform. There's no one to wait around for this time. There's no cavalry coming to bail him out. He is the cavalry.

Every time I think Alex is poised to take the next step, he lays a stinker.

And then I write him off, like I did after LSU, he shows that he can easily be a top10 college player.

Idk what to make anymore. All I know is this situation is insanely close to Darius Millers four years here. And Miller really came on strong his senior year. Hoping Alex does the same.
