I told you once that sports-reference cuts off history, depriving us at least 25 seasons of football record.

HH, you are either a basketball nut, relatively new to football, or a troll.

How many UK football fans do not know our history dates prior to 1890?

Remember Stoll Field?

Stoll graduated 20 years prior to 1915.

A better reference guide is winsipedia.

And remember, there were no national rankings in such detail prior to 1936, when the AP started (pre-season rankings began in 1950.)

Here is a single (lengthy) page on Winsipedia that you can scroll, showing every game played, and the score, dating back to the very beginning.

No I do not remember Stoll Field as I am but 56 yrs old Hack. No sense in attacking me because I dont. I have been following UK football since the late 70s. Everything I posted is correct. Prior to 1915 (107 yrs ago) I doubt more than a handful of posters know anything about UK football.
I have liked you as a poster thru the yrs. so Im going to let your last rant slide. However, if I catch you calling me a nut or troll again you will go to ignoreland quicker than Barion Brown ran that 101 yd kickoff return.

What about the Immortals of 1898. Undefeated and un-scored upon?

This made me chuckle. I wonder how many fans do know of our history pre 1915? I mean, I didn’t. But I’ve only been a UK football fan since about 1982 (this is what I can remember).

Winsipedia is garbage too. They have Ohio State’s record vs. the SEC involve teams who were not in the SEC when the games occurred. And also games that were *vacated* by the NCAA.

Don’t sell football fans short: when there were still printed media guides, thousands of fans bought them, and they have info/stories on “the Immortals” Black Doc and Red Doc, our earliest coaches, etc.

HH lay off the ignore button: you’ll end up talking to yourself!!

They would likely correct it if contacted.

Their single page summary of wins and losses is pretty cool.

The band used to have a version of Dixie that then blended into “On, On U of K.”
I was in the Marching 100 and pre-game we would form the word Dixie then march from the end zone to midfield playing Dixie. Then we would march from the middle of the field to the end zone playing On On U of K. The songs were blended without a break. Fast tempo.

When Dixie was played the entire stadium erupted in cheers, both home and visitor fans in unison.

Man, I’m too young but those must have been the good ol’ days. Back when gay meant that a person was happy. Sure things have changed, it’s a damn shame!
