I turned it on late, and MJ is half-joking about it being his last show because he's gonna be in trouble for something. I don't think it actually is the last show, but the joking seems to have something behind it. Anyone know what it is?

MATT JONES AND HIS LIBERAL CRONIES NEED TO GET OFF MY RADIO
He may not have the mental capacity to push the buttonsThen change the channel
If that station gets rid of him, someone else will scoop him up.
Representing liberals well there buddy. Keep it up!
That place is terribleAs a few others have stated, keep the political stuff in the political thread on The Paddock.
Which stations are under the same umbrella? Cause it seems like Meiners, Vanetti and Jones are all buddies. If there is new ownership, and all those stations are connected, then the Underdogs are toast. And Meiners is going to get reined in in a hurry.
I hope you're right but the tweet from MJ was short. just "We will be on the radio tomorrow". No sarcasm or jokes. It does kinda sound ominous.WHAS, WKRD, and WKJK are all the same owned by iHeart Media (Clear Channel), that's why they are all buddies. Even if they do bring in a new boss that has deep UofL ties, I don't think it will matter at this point. When their contract with UofL sports is up, they are all going to 93.9 WLCL "The Ville." Jurich hates iHeart and wants to get away from them in bad way. iHeart will never willingly get rid of KSR, no matter what ties the new boss has. The corporate guys above him will run him out of town if he hinders KSR in any way, because Matt Jones makes the station so much more money than any other show they have. Plus, the corporate guys could care less about an athletic director in the 54th ranked market in the country.
Isn't the GOV suppose to tell you when to change the channel? He may not have the mental capacity to push the buttons
Yeah except they already have great ratings.Color me skeptical. This seems a lot like the oldest trick in radio. Create "tension" between the popular (and sometimes outspoken) host and the new (uptight) boss. Throw in a little UK/UL rivalry to the equation (Jones, the "voice" of BBN in hostile territory vs. the oppressive management with "strong" UL ties) and it makes for a pretty good manufactured controversy - and ratings.
Straight out of the Howard Stern playbook, just modified a bit to fit the market demographics.

Well if you can't/don't see how great it is to have someone like MJ in Louisville, tweaking tommy turtleneck and ul's nose all the time, that's your problem.Oh man... I haven't been this worried since Mrs. Carlson called Andy Travis into her office for a private meeting.

Yeah, but she was changing the format because KRP was starting to make money. Andy extorted her and she could not tell the Big Guy the truth, that the station was a tax writeoff. Entirely different scenario, my friend.Oh man... I haven't been this worried since Mrs. Carlson called Andy Travis into her office for a private meeting.
