Anyone know why neither TE played

Don't remember either one being on the field
Yeah, I saw Conrad go in before the decision to kick the field goal, but never for a play. So much for getting the TEs involved...same old same old....

He was on the field several times as a blocker but he never ran a route that I saw.

conrad was out there several times that i saw but i never saw us look over the middle and i dont know if that was by design or because of how ull was playing us.

I truly thought UK would utilize them this year. So much talk about it. Would like to know what happened.

I don't recall seeing him run a route either. Kind of puzzling really.

For those that don't think he was on the field you have to remember he changed his number. He's not 15 any more he's 87. He was on the field on as a wing back on those inverted wish bone plays.

I am starting to believe this might just be one of Pat's short comings. I don't know if he really looks at the middle of the field. He clearly throws those outside fades well and seems to over rely on them. When they aren't there he falls apart as a QB like he can't make any other throw.

Yeah I saw that early.

Thank you. Did not know that. Did Long change numbers too?

But if you remember last year's Fla and Miss State games you know he can make a variety of throws. I think him and Dawson had a deep throw spells going on and couldn't get away from them.

It's obvious. That's the pass that Patrick vetoed because he was uncomfortable with it. After all, he never threw it last year. Makes sense. lol

They were playing us tight with 8 in the box most of the night until we got the jitters in the second half. Kind of hard to throw there with so many bodies in that space.

Maybe, just maybe, we didn't want to show too much in this game!? However, I am concerned about Towles. Last year he would have picked up some nice yards on some of the plays where we made nothing. Go Cats!!

Yes. It's a proven fact if you don't throw to a true Frosh or a RS Frosh in the first game, then you will never use them in their or your (as a OC) career.

Notwithstanding, if you did then there would be game film for the upcoming opponent you wish to beat.

RV, do you think the TEs will get some work in on pass plays against SC?

The TEs lined up in the back field a lot. In the inverted wishbone, one of the backs was a TE. Conrad made one of the key blocks to free Boom on his first run, and also was a key block (took out 2 players) for Horton on his TD run. was hoping to see the Jumbo package with Jacob lined up in the backfield. We had a lot of players get their feet wet in the game.

Good question, but I think that Stoops might be trying to hold something back for USC.... Especially, on a day that our receivers were open down field on almost every play... Second, we were hitting a couple of them and ahead on the score board, so we probably saved 60% of our offense from the sight of Stevie... When we needed the win, I think you seen us running the ball with power... I don't know if we had a tight end leading that running play, or not.... I think this Saturday, that we will be moving the ball more methodical down field.... I can't remember us punting much Saturday.....

Those blocks from the lead RBs were perfect, a thing of beauty. I suspect we will see Conrad run routes from that alignment. Later in the season, I also expect to see Thumper or a TE take a handoff from that pistol-like formation.

I think we should have had about 17 more points had we executed. But then, I think ULL missed opportunities, as well.

If you read Maggard's comments you'd discover these guys aren't quite ready for prime time despite the hoopla. Their time is coming.

When teams are playing a zone, the Tight End gets into the seems of the defense. ULL was playing press coverage which limits the ability of the TE's to be effective.
