I got an application last night and am excited about the chance to serve. I was just wondering what the best way is to get the required signatures if you do not know any members.
It's okay guys. I knew that coming to the board and asking, I would have to sort through the genuine responses and the funny stuff. Any real information that anyone has would be greatly appreciated though.
Yep, I am here. I have been a member for 30 years and a section leader for about 17 of those. You just need to have your application endorsed by two current members. Dues for working members are $60 per year. If you would like me to get you those signatures, you can email me at ben101er@windstream.net and I will make the arrangements for you.
I was not familiar with it myself until I moved up here and actually was able to go to Rupp. My curious nature led me to ask a few questions and find out a little. Then I went home and did a little research (I found the same article). Finally, last night I saw the opportunity to ask one of the members about it. Great organization!
I was a member tilll we moved to Florida. You have to be recommended by members and voted in. Took me about 3 years to get in. Was a load of fun and enjoyed working the games!

There are some drawbacks. A lot of people think you get to go to all the games and you get to see all the action. This is not the case. When working the ticket gates at the football games someone has to man the gates the entire game and you see none of it. If you work the lower arena at Rupp for basketball you are constantly checking tickets and see none of the game. Some guys get great spots to work where they can see the games, but not all do.
