Anyone catch RPs reference to Jim Valvano

Saying that the NCAA was ultimately responsible for Valvano's failed health and ultimate demise is just plain asinine. Pitino is such an arrogant POS to even say something so stupid. Are we to believe that, if his own health deteriorates, it is the fault of the NCAA and not the Syphilis?

Whether the banner comes down or not, how much longer do you think rikky stays at duhvill?
If the banner and jurich go, i think he will be close behind or before. sooner or later the school will want to put this behind them (one would think) and maybe do a housecleaning of the athletic dept.

Either way, i think he is on his way out in the not so distant future.

That asshole sold out to lay with the UL vermin and that wretched lair brought him down to their level. I mean, we all knew he was an arrogant prick at UK but he is far beyond that now. Since his UL sojourn he has fallen into that pit of vipers and become one himself. This dude was always going to be a jerk no matter where he coached but staining his reputation as he has could've only occurred at that POS institution. What a shameful, sorry episode over there since early 2001.

Anyone have a video of the press conference? I'm trying to find it to show a friend the exact words and inflection he used. What a disgusting statement.

I took it a bit differently. I didn't take it like his "I banged Karen Sypher because I was in grief over my brother-in-law." That was scumlike and frankly a crock BS excuse for the event.

This one, I believe, was based on a question about or whether he was considering stepping down. He said that Jimmy V blamed his body being worn down and eventually susceptible to the cancer that killed him because of the investigation. I took it as a potential reason why he MIGHT walk away. His health is not worth dealing with the stress of going through the investigation. I took that as that he is considering the possibility of retiring. JMHO.

I agree with that sentiment for the most part too, but he used a man who died of cancer as an example to try and paint the NCAA in a certain light. Whose team was on probation over tickets and sneakers and whose for strippers and pay-to-play?

Again I get the retirement sentiment due to a high visbility of an extremely stressful scenario but let's not act like there wasn't a clear ulterior motive.
