So really they are irrelevant to me and you can't hate something you don't care about. I will say this I hate a good portion of their fans and think Tom Crean is a bum. However this year's team is somewhat fun to watch, they run and gun and Ferrell and Blackmon Jr. are electric college guards. The thing about IU fans though is through all their idiocracy I actually feel somewhat sorry for them.
Imagine this, the year is 1993 Duke has 2 National titles, UNC has 2, Kansas has 2, Louisville has 2, UCLA has died from what they were and UK and IU are the preeminent powers of college basketball and it isn't even close. IU has 5 titles and 7 final fours and UK has 5 titles and 9 final fours. UK has 1549 wins and IU 1330. You play each other yearly in the Colts football stadium and draw crowds the likes of which were mainly unheard of at that time. Both teams totally and completely dominate their conferences, they each have an All-American and what they think are future NBA Hall Of Fame type players in Mashburn and Cal Chaney.
Now 20 years later one program is still the preeminent power of college basketball with nearly 2200 wins, 8 National Titles, 16 Final Fours, still plays in Football stadiums, has an Army of All Americans and future NBA stars, and dominates it's conference.
The other still has 5 National Titles, only 1 more Final Four, 1700 wins, doesn't play any games in football stadiums, has no great players on the college level or otherwise, and has won it's conference only twice in those 20 years.
Meanwhile Duke, UNC, Kansas, Louisville, UCLA, and possibly UConn have all passed you on the list of greatest college programs of all time. All of that in just 20 years. Being an IU fan most just be bananas. Thank the Good Lord I'm a UK fan.
