Any word on Willis?

Is there a chance he plays tomorrow?

Ask Lloyd Christmas. In all seriousness, I sure hope he can give us some minutes. I second your post of wondering if anyone has any clue. I'm afraid we won't know til near gametime tomorrow for gamesmanship purposes if nothing else.

I have no idea about Willis' ankle, but I will say this;

I hope we're in a position where we get a small lead and hold it the entire game so he wouldn't have to play. This would give him a few more valuable days of rest to keep practicing that 3 from the corner. :D

I'll bet that's what Cal and co. are hoping too.

The way UK attacked the basket on Tuesday, we don't need him. No need to rush him back unless he's 100%. The last thing we need is a tweak or swelling that affects the rest of the season.

I guess they have Saturday as a possibility, but I'm not counting on it. We will probably get a vague update in today's presser.

Vandy has Jones and Kornet though. Doubt we'll be attacking the basket as easily.

I wouldn't bet any money on him playing as early as this weekend, at least REALLY doing anything. I suppose you could say him being subbed in to shoot FTs or Cal drawing something up to have him stand in the corner and shoot a 3 off the catch is possible, but I wouldn't count on him being out there running around playing hard. If so, he's the fastest healer I've ever seen.

It's an ankle sprain that happened last week. Stop it with hyperbole.

Based on the pix of his ankle, I see no way. Especially since our ultimate goal at hand isn't to win at Vanda necessarily. Much rather see this heal and have full strength when it gets real.

This is the same as the Meniscus debates with Alex.

This injury is so variable that nobody outside of the player and the team have any idea how to project it.

When we played them in Jan. Willis had like 7 points on 2 of 8 from the field and 1 of 6 from three. Poy had 16. We thumped then by 19. I know its at Vandy but still we should be able to win this without Willis. Hell the refs already called his second foul of the first half anyway. Lol

Jones pretty much said he's out for tomorrow on his show today.

UK should beat Vandy. These road losses against inferior competition are getting kind of annoying for a title contending team. Handle business.

The ankle looked bad strictly based on the swelling shown. Anyone who has had a sprained ankle( I used to have them all the time, when I played, probably have had about 30 in my life) knows that the amount of swelling is not necessarily indicative of how bad it is or how long you will be out He did not come down with force on someone's foot, he turned it on his own on the floor while running at about 1/2 speed. I'm not saying its nothing, but he's 21 years old and getting round the clock treatment. I would say there is a reasonable chance he could play if we need him.

Which title contending team out there doesn't have a road loss against inferior competition?

Just stop it dude . Poythress was back with venom before people thought and Willis will be back in a game or 2 as well. At full strength we are a damn sight to behold these days and we have great trainers working on the guys.

Not meaning any disrespect, but what Poythress had wrong with him isn't even close to what Willis' ankle is. And yes, I've had knee surgery and an ankle broken (plus many many many sprains) in my lifetime, so I firmly understand the difference.

The sight of Willis' ankle last week made me cringe. It's nice it wasn't a high ankle sprain, but it was swollen enough to indicate he'll be out a couple of weeks (minimum).

AND you want him to rest for the NCAA tourney.
