Any word on how the visits have gone/are going?

Wonder too but I'm seeing the DB commit from South Carolina, Scott who is at UK this weekend, has shut down his recruitment and reaffirmed his commitment to UK. Scott cancelled a visit to SCAR set for next week. Word last week was that Bama had been sniffing around so his announcement is awesome!
DeCarlos Nicholson is expected to commit. I haven't heard anything on the others
Some of the larger accounts are saying it’s going to be a busy or exciting week, would love to see Trayanum and McCulley pop today. Also have Ja’mori Maclin visiting, slot guy out of North Texas who averaged 24 yards per catch and returns kicks, played two years at Mizzou.
Excellent news. Some of our fans were disappointed when Coach Stoops accepted Scott's commitment, but he has turned out to be one of the best prospects in our 2024 class. A sure tackler with safety size, elite speed, and a big motor. Very much needed.
I suspect this may spell the end of our recruitment of Cam Dooley.
Really hope Maclin pops but he's drawing a lot of attention, don't have a clue if he's taking other visits. Some saying the DB Nicholson commits by the end of the day.

I expect us to get Nicholson. Maclin has so many options that a quick decision would be surprising.
He was suggesting another receiver commitment. Nicholson isn't a receiver, but I think we will get him.

Besides Cottrell, Maclin and McCulley are the only other transfer receivers publicly reported to be visiting this weekend. Of course that doesn't mean they are the only receivers here.
My guess is that the reported names are most but not all of the players actually visiting this weekend. Seems like there are always a few that are not reported in the media.
Shouldn't be surprising, KY sports media is the worst at providing updates.

I was told last year on this site that there was NO WAY Beau Allen would come back to UK.
I certainly hope this is true!!
Beau Allen is not great but he’s better than what we’ve had the past several years. I don’t know where I’d rank him with other SEC backups but he’s better than Sheron and Wade.

It doesn't have anything to do with a lack of faith in Wilcox or the freshman. When you have an opportunity to get a proven stud like this, you don't pass it up unless you're crazy.
Besides, in this league you need multiple RBs on the roster who can play. Someone like Sanders or Trayanum would compliment Wilcox quite well. I like the notion of pairing a smaller, speedy, elusive RB with a big, powerful, fast, bruiser of a RB.
Wilcox is more of an outside zone back while Sanders and Trayanum are those power guys that fall forward and move the chains. Think either of those combos would be highly effective.
Stoops has to have a run between the tackles bruiser type back for his offense to control time of possession and move the chains on 3rd and short and have the ability to run the ball inside the 10 yard line.
That is not a role for a true freshman.
I’m sure he has faith, but doesn’t want to go into the season with unproven RBs.
Having someone who has carried the load in a P5 conference is reassuring.

Is this a serious question? If Stoops had no faith in them, he would not have taken their commitments. You have been on this board long enough to know SEC coaching staffs need to have 4-5 RBs ready to play in case of injuries or fatigue. Wilcox rushed for >2,000 yards as a hs senior in GA. Patterson rushed for nearly 3,000 yards in the FL panhandle in 2022. Incredible numbers. Both also ran track. Mizell was recruited by AL, GA, OK, and SoCal. Our RB room is stacked now with excellent young talent, but taking a more experienced RB through the portal to add to the room makes good sense.
Whether or not that is the case, Stoops needs a couple more WRs through the portal even after taking Cottrell, and I believe he will get them.
If a lot of this comes to fruition, so much for the threats of Stoops leaving causing a mass exodus and a bunch of decommits, sounds like we’re actually making upgrades.
