I think its a good hire.
Grant's luster wore off at bama, but I think he can be very solid at Dayton.

Grant strikes me as a good coach of a mid-major program. I bet at times he wished he'd never left VCU. Sometimes coaches move up and it just doesn't work out but then they return to a lower level and have success. For example, look at what Mike Davis is doing these days at Texas Southern (and he even admits he was in over his head when he took over for Bobby Knight).
