Now Pinson is coming back along with Berry, they just have it to good to leave, not sure Pinson will play in the league anyway. The Carolina way keeps rolling.

I guess it's hard to walk away from that free Ivy League education they get down there in Chapel Hill. Not to mention the pay cut they would take by leaving there for the pro ranks.

They don't have to go to class and make more money than in the D League. What is not to like.

There's a good reason that Berry and Pinson are returning to UNCCheat--they're not good enough to play in the association. All kidding aside, that is the bottom line. If they were better than that, they would be cashing checks now like the best players in their class.

It really isn't amazing how Duke and UNC are able to get these McDonald's All-Americans to come back for junior and senior seasons.

He signed with an agent. It comes down to the freshmen center . If he returns they are a top 10 team if he doesn't they are barely a top 20 team IMO . Just not enough talent.

Yeah, with Bradley, Knox, and Berry that's three pretty good players, but doesn't scream title to me.

I know some of yall like to glorify the D League, but life at most major programs is a lot better than bussing it around the Midwest, playing in front of crowds High Schools would be embarrassed of, and never playing on TV.

I'm not sure why it's surprising that a guy who has virtually no chance of being drafted is returning.

He is the highest rated recruit still in college for his class. I'm pretty sure he's the only top 25 recruit/5 star still in school. The rest developed enough to get paid. Says something about Roy...its not like he knew how to recruit a top 25 player that would stay 4 years.

Losing Jackson, Meeks, and Hicks essentially means no chance of repeating.
Agree with this. Doubt if Bradley comes back but Pinson is hardly an offensive juggernaut. Next year the title will be set up for Duke to win regardless of who UNC has coming back.

Pinson is actually a very good player considering he's only played one full season healthy as a sophomore. His Freshman and Junior years he missed half of each because of injury.

Trust in Cal.

Pinson was a 5-star. Let's just face it UK players are more NBA ready. There's no other way to look at it. UK kids are also having greater success in the NBA than these other schools kids.

That's not a negative!

Who cares about the NBA? I don't. All I care about is UK. I don't like being an NBA farm team that struggles through a crappy SEC most seasons. Cals way is not the only way to win a title.

I disagree with the second part (a quick glance at the first part might be a little off). Just because a guy leaves school does not mean he developed enough to get paid. Many of them do but some of them leave even if they have not developed because they feel it's what they should do.

That's not at all surprising.
What IS surprising is how, at UK, those kids that have no shot at the NBA, leave early.
Berry and Pinson may not be top shelf NBA players, they are good enough to get there, considering some of the guys I see getting minutes in the league. Kelly Oubre, Delavadova? Come on.
The real question is, how is UNC not winning it every year?

5 SEC regular season titles and 5 SEC tournament titles in 8 years is hardly "struggling through a crappy SEC" There have been 4 unbeaten regular seasons in the SEC since 1955; Cal has done it twice.

That's not the main reason we lose the most guys early. The main reason is because Cal now only attracts the players that want to bolt ASAP. They have a foot out the door as soon as they step on campus. While Duke, unc and Kansas gets players that dream of going to the NBA, it's not their one and only agenda. Plus their rosters are full of those types like ours is.

How do you get bullshit to stack that high?

2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016 were struggles in the regular season and most of the SEC. We should smoke the SEC almost every year considering we're the top basketball school in a football conference but losing half your roster every year means we have some lean years sometimes when we should not.

Just because you don't want to admit it doesn't mean it's BS. Look at the guys comments and actions both before and while they're here. We are always a "business decision" and we always have a player or two that leave sooner than they should.

I can't agree with that. Yeah, Cal makes it harder by having to replace his entire team every year, but life on the road in the SEC is a damn circus and SEC officials are awful, they buy into the home crowd bs. We get shafted on the road in the SEC, but we win the league more times than not and the league is better than it gets credit for.
Also, I know you don't want to admit it, because you have a point to prove, but you and I both know that these teams play out of their minds when UK comes to town. They COULD play like that against everyone else, but they just don't. Probably because their arenas are empty when UK isn't the opponent.
