Two come to mind (and this just opinion)

  1. Bonnie Raitt -Roy Orbinsons "You got it". I mean she's good, but where's the value add?
  2. Club Nouveau- "Bill Wither's "Lean on Me"
  3. The Fugees-Lori Lieberman's (Roberta Flack) "Killing me softly"

This may be a bit OT, but I can't see a movie about Bob Dylan's early career (which occurred a mere 60 years ago) making a whole lot of money, no matter how good the acting is.

Didn't Uncle Kracker (??) also remake 'Drift Away'? It was not.....good.

U2 covered 'Helter Skelter' pretty decently on Rattle and Hum (I think) but it wasn't anything special.

False. GNR added energy to the song. That song rocks, "If it's too loud, you are too old".

The lyrics of the song are reflective and somewhat dark. It’s supposed to be a slow song filled with foreboding. A person confronted with feelings of their own impending death. The last thing it needed was energy.

Guns and Roses’ cover of Bob Dylan song, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”.

Just awful. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.
Original was great, one of BD's best, originally written for the movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. A lot of other Dylan songs made great covers, e.g., Watchtower by Hendrix, and Mr. Tambourine Man by the Byrds.

GNR not my taste generally, but they had some great individual songs, just don't think Heaven's Door is one of them.

And who can forget this abomination by Mick Jagger and David Bowie. They took a Motown classic by Martha and the Vandellas and turned it into whatever the hell this is. Try to watch the whole thing without laughing. You can’t!

So bad.

When this came out my college roommate said they are remaking a Van Halen song. I said no, but ok.
