Good grief Charlie Brown, can we PLEASE hire a full time ST coach? Please? How many missed XP’s is that? We’re so bad on ST’s it looks like we’re doing this on purpose.

I really cannot stand this kicker. Just put someone else in every if they’re worse. I don’t care. I’m sick of seeing him strut around, talk shit, jolt around before kicks and suck ass. I’m done with him.
Get a new kicker. Geez..Whatvis wrong with Stoops? Bring inJackson Smith.
Not the coaching. It's the kicker. No velocity or height on the ball.
Give Poore another chance, he was highly ranked and has years in the program now.
It’s timing. I just noticed. Low snap and Ruf can’t trust taking off and teams get penetration. We really need a ST coach

It’s all a mess. Low snaps, bobbled holds, low kicks, can’t block.
He takes 3 steps on his kicks, that half second allows the defense to get there. He should only need 2 steps to kick the extra points.
During the punt that we should have had blocked, we had 2 'protectors'. Tenn only rushed 1 man; he went UNTOUCHED to the punter. The resistance by this staff to give ST the attention it deserves is so disappointing because UK needs to do the "little things" to be competitive. Currently, we give away points every week.
Bottomline....Stoops needs to stop with this special teams by staff approach. It's plain dumb. Hire a special teams coach for pete sake.

Schools have all kinds of "consultants" who are fired coaches waiting for a gig. Throw some money at a consultant to focus on this poor part of our program. Constant missing FG/XP, bad snaps all the time, rarely do we create points with our special teams in blocked punt, punt returns, etc... Barion Brown has made a few KO returns but again...90% of teams KO thru the endzone...so he's not going to have a chance to get many returns.

KT let me ask, do you think the reason they haven’t hired a special teams coach since Hood left is because Stoops is dividing that money up among Marrow and the rest ?

Especially on extra points. There is absolutely no reason to kick line drives on extra points. On distance field goals you have to get your foot on more of the ball but extra points and short field goals should get up quickly . A D1 kicker should have the ability to control trajectory of the ball .
He’s kicked it too low his entire career on extra points and short field goals . Even a lot of the ones he’s made were low enough to be blocked but they barely missed a hand .

Seriously doubt money is the problem. More likely Stoops just doesn't value special teams for whatever reason, surely to god he knows better.
Hood likely will be fired at Murray after this year, he's only won a couple of games in this his third or fourth year. Hire him back as ST coach after Murray fires him.
We have 4 games left. Let the Smith kid kick and he can still keep his redshirt. And if Hood gets fired, please hire him back.
Don’t want to burn a redshirt at this point but could play after this week and not burn the RS. Maybe we will see him. He has a big leg. I saw him hit from 50 with ease in high school.
Yep. Low snaps started this whole thing. Caused some misses and now it's a confidence thing.
There are probably 20 kids on that campus that played long snapper in highschool. Get them on the field last few games. It literally can't get worse.
The long snapper that graduated finished his career without a single bad snap. Everyone took that for granted.
Good post. I couldn’t agree more. How the TN player didn’t block that punt is a mystery to me. He was up the middle, straight line to the punter without being touched.
we can’t block worth a piss on offense I’d imagine we can’t block on FGA/PAT’s worth anything either. I’m not sure the kicker matters too much ruffalo is a pretty great kicker during his time here his issues are mainly this year when we couldn’t block Bell County High School.
Honestly, I think he was so stunned at having a free path to the kicker he just blew it.
Exactly. He had a huge leg. He got the Yipps as a freshman and lost the FGK job and rightfully so. But now he’s had a couple years to mature and has performed well on kickoff. Give him a chance
I wonder if due to our disregard for ST, maybe C. Poore is the only guy they have that has taken a single snap as holder; thus, he can't be the kicker. That sounds outragously stupid, but have you seen our special teams?
Maybe. But typically your holder is a backup QB and it’s pretty easy to learn to do
As many times as we’ve had to run the fire offense (or whatever we call it here) due to a bad snap or broken play it would likely be beneficial to have the backup QB back there
