Amari will always do some of the things we don't like, even like he did in the MSU game (getting shoved out of the way for rebounds, having the ball stripped away, overdribbling in the post), but the difference between an MSU game and a UGA game is how many insanely positive plays he makes to offset them. MSU had great passing, some good defense, and more toughness than we saw in some other games. If he can balance it out, he's a HUGE asset to the team.If I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times...this team will go as far as Jaxson and Amari take them. They are Pope's guys, and they will be getting their minutes, regardless of how well (or not well) they are playing.
The question becomes what version will UK get. While I don't expect Jaxson to put up 27 a night (along with 7 threes, as that is just ridiculous expectations), he cannot have nights where he is a complete no show (UGA game), he has to contribute something.
Same with Amari. It is crazy how similar both of their attitudes/demeanor on the court look, or at least how it is perceived by the fanbase. As Cal liked to say, Amari told on himself with the way he performed against UF and MSU. UK cannot afford to have him no show, like Jaxson, the way he did against UGA.
If they both play with the intensity and energy we saw against UF and MSU, this team is more then capable of getting to the FF. If one of them no shows, those chances take a hit. If they both no show...well, forget about it. Hoping we get the Jaxson/Amari we saw against MSU most nights!
This team plays for each other, not a draft status."I hope you guys know how much I love you".
