So we pay $300 ea. x 100 players = $30K for each of these 5-6 new helmets each season for say $150K/yr?
Do we actually pay anything under our contract with Nike or is the equipment provided?
The usual chrome helmet has a blue UK on it with a blue facemask. This has a white UK and white facemask.
I'm fine with straight old school butt whipping uniforms, black high tops, single bar face masks. No mail polish like the Cards wear.
It’s all provided under the Nike contract. School isn’t out any money on any football equipment.
They are chrome with white interlocking UK.

A Power K chrome helmet would be GOAT if done right.
Checkerboard chrome helmet would be absolutely hilarious and would for sure crash the site. People would be stroking out left and right. Black jersey, checkerboard chrome helmet, black pants, gloves with the birds fudging logo, checkerboard socks, and black cleats would be the ultimate combo to send people over the edge. I'd love to see it just for the reaction.
Would probably be the most epic meltdown this site has seen in years.

When you get $35,000,000 handed to you each year from SECN, you can spend whatever you want. Plus, I'm sure alot of this equipment is covered under the Nike deal...
I’m guessing the 75% of internal UK Athletics employees that make under $50K a year would disagree with your logic.
In the NFL, if I understand correctly, players must keep the same helmet all season (unless it breaks), for concussion related reasons.

They should bring that up with the state of Kentucky considering they are state employees. That comes from university funding, not athletic contracts and revenue.
This statement is half false. Yes, they are considered state employees. But Uk Athletics is a 100% self-supporting enterprise. They donate money to the University, not the other way around.
