This team doesn't have them like last year and previous years. Murray shows flashes (today 2nd half) but is inconsistent. Ulis has an Alpha heart but can't just simply take over when he wants to. Other than that, Calipari's job will be to mold this team together into a cohesive unit by season's end, which can still happen, but clearly they aren't there yet. This team will be fine because they can beat anybody, but will stress fans out because they can be beat by anybody too.

Who was the alpha on the team at this point last year? It became Towns but that didn't happen until February and March. Honestly if you made me pick who it was I in the non-conference last year I'd say Andrew Harrison of all people... and we all know how most people viewed his toughness and leadership abilities.
All I know is that Briscoe and Ulis are two of the toughest guys Cal has had here. Hell, Ulis tried to fight Cousins and I wouldn't put that past Briscoe either.

True. I guess there was a confident swagger that several guys on last years team had from the get go. This team can get there, but other than the Duke game, I haven't seen a consistent fight and toughness that last years team collectively had early on. But like I said, they can get there.
