just throwing it out there. his last 9 games….

9 minutes 2-2 fg
3 minutes 0-0 fg
19 minutes 6-7 fg
8 minutes 0-1 fg
4 minutes 0-1 fg
10 minutes 0-1 fg
17 minutes 3-5 fg
23 minutes 3-5 fg
22 minutes 4-5 fg

more often than not lately, when he gets more than 10 minutes, he puts up points.

Have been curious why he doesn't get more minutes for about 2 months now. To me, he was going to be UK's true X factor ... but Pope/staff must not see it that way. I trust the coaches, but it just always seems like Almonor does good things on the court.

He isn't able to get open in physical games. He's a spot up shooter and we really don't have the horses to get him open shots.

This. If we're not penetrating, he is going to struggle. Teams are just not coming off him for anything. For all the talk about brea shooting, and its great, AA seems by far the better shooter on catch and shoot.

I don't know his percentage on corner 3s, but it has to be over 80%. If he gets a corner 3 off, its like a layup.

I think it's quite obvious.
1) he does NOT rebound his rebounding stats are what you would expect from a 6'0 PG (3.3 per30min).
2) he can't guard anyone quick, so some games are just bad matchups for him (like Auburn & Okl)
3) in the games that he didn't play as much (in above list those <17min), when he was on the floor he wouldn't shoot (so either not working to get open, or not taking the shots when he has it). In those 5 games above he played 34 total minutes but only attempted 5 shots, not more than 1 in any game until last night. The one last night he was so open, it was essentially a 10' FT, the other was what I'd like to see more from him, as soon as the shot when up he crashed the lane and got the "old man" rebound & basket.

Easiest guy to guard is guy who stays in one place.
Freakin move!!!

He doesn't take bad shots and he's a really good shooter. He had a nice putback last nite as well. He spaces the floor. He's underrated.

He moves. They're just not going to leave him and he cant take people off the bounce. Without penetration and kick, or a fast break, he isnt going to get many shots.

Hes also excellent at not forcing anything.
