We actually moved up one spot after yesterday’s putrid performance.
Reasons are fairly simple. Hard to move much in either direction from one game this late in the season. Our overall SOS improved because Auburn has been a juggernaut all year. We outrebounded them by 15 (insane). We shot a ton of free throws. Their assist/turnover was only 1/1.
In other words, they made a bunch of individual plays, which typically isn’t a great strategy for a deep tournament run.
End of the day, we played roughly Sweet 16 level basketball, despite our flaws. They played closer to a Final Four, championship level.
