interviews, especially one, it seems this team just thought they were better than their opponent the last few weeks but didn't show it on the field.

Coach and players said the team had no urgency or energy. No soul from what it sounded like. No energy means no focus. No focus means inconsistent play.

I can't think of a better way to describe the play on the field. Going through the motions and expecting to be better than the other team is middle school football.

We really are missing a coach or 3 that demand the players go out and demolish people every play, start to finish. Who do we bring in to get that done? The D needs Wesley Woodyard imo. The O needs someone like that, too, but who ...?

Can't believe they didn't prepare this team for how much of a difference it makes when you got the target on your back and people give their best game against you. Instead of making them Monsters of the Midway to prepare them, somehow they squeezed the energy out instead. How does that happen?

We could've won the game WITH Sheron, but never consistently played to dominate

Play calling was horrendous. Oline was horrific
Special teams was horrible

Rewatching the game the play calls aren't nearly as bad as the execution and the lack of effort. That first play was sloppy execution. If that ball is flipped up to Brown instead of at him, he's got tons of yardage ahead of him.

Two TDs by USC where they ran past 2 DBs in position to stop the play, on one DB ran outside and missed the hole, and the other was standing straight up and down like he thought the play was over. Forget about the holding calls+ that should've been made on most of USCs chunk plays and scores, the D was booing through the motions some as well. Can't win playing hard half of the plays

This is a fair post and includes good observations. We played a lot of uninspired football … not sure why.

The ref sucked both ways equally.

If I have time to watch it again, I'll see how many holds and illegal blocks they missed against us, how many late hits and extra shoves well after the play was over, and how many of your helmets were taken off without an illegal hands to the face being called. Offhand I don't recall many for some reason
