After this year it will be 9 years since Kentucky was a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament

Yeah, but how many young men are living their dreams in the NBA? That’s his primary focus. He can’t be bothered to teach defense, make adjustments to our D, etc. that would require real effort. Might also take time away from his beloved dog.

People were fawning over that behind the scenes video from the Ark game the other day but it stood out to me that he was as concerned about ABs feelings as praising UGO.

I think the decline was slow enough that many fans don't realize how far we really fell. It's quite shocking when you really look at it from a big picture stand point
I use to think Cal’s tenure would be looked at as pre-and-post-2015. Now I think you can break it into three categories. 2010-2015 (great), 2016-2020 (okay), 2021-present (awful).

And here's the actual numbers to back it up...once fat boy got paid, he's mailed it in.

That is absolutely ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. Give me a break.

Agree man. This was supposed to be the year.

This is it for me on having any faith in Cal again. Season on the Brink. Not that he gives two sh*ts what I think 😂.

It is at minimum FF or bust. If he cannot win it with this team he never will.

Yeap. We're basically a Top 15-20 team, with ZERO chance of a good seed, trending downward. We're really not that far from dropping out of the Top 25 and becoming a bubble team.

This is the EXACT thing that has worried me for years. It would be a gradual decline until we had lower standards than before. That's what I've been worried about for a long time now.

The sec is very competitive this year, so Im blissfully thinking that if we make the ncaa tourney and dont have to play an sec foe.......we may go farther.

This is what happens when some reach their goal and then just aren’t hungry for anything. Got his title, got the contract, got complacent. He probably don’t even recognize it. I bet his wife notices how much more time he spends with her and the dogs though. Cal realized his dream and relaxed. It happens.
Which is why I’d have a lot of respect for him if he walks away at the end of this season. He has more than enough money to have a comfortable life, his kids all seem to have their own careers, he reached his goals (one title and the HoF was all he needed). Walk away and enjoy life, instead of looking like dog crap and destroying your legacy.

Gold Standard.

I was thinking of starting a thread asking for people to bump if Cal has taken their heart.

This.

And if we search our hearts… some of us have done the same in life. It’s easy to do. I’ve been fortunate to have a very successful career but have to fight complacency all the time as retirement nears. It’s difficult some days not to want to cruise. It’s hard to stay focused, keep setting goals, wanting to grow and succeed at a high level.

While it’s easy to let comfy creep in, I’m also not the highest paid employee in the Commonwealth. I’m not leading the winningest college program of all time. His complacency is on full display for all to see when he coasts. It’s sad to watch.

I’ve been holding onto hope that I was the one that was wrong for the last 3 years or so.

UK wanted the Calipari that would bend every rule he could without breaking them, and wanted to prove to everyone he was as good as any coach, that he deserved to be the coach of Kentucky. I remember him saying he was crushed when UK hired Gillespie and he didn't even get a call.

Now we have an elder statesman, he wants to sit around and offer sage advice, he has turned into Dean Smith in front of us. Its about maintaining what he's built.

The coach UK hired in 2009 was all about coming into a place like that and dismantling it.

He's traded his Corvette in for a Buick, His Nikes for New Balance , and he's more concerned about one a day the vitamin than two a day the practices.

Sitting at #10 now, just lost at home yesterday, with another home loss on Saturday to Tennessee, that’s good for a 10-11 spot drop in the AP poll come Monday, and with a possible road loss next week, it’s all but guaranteed!

Had a chance to break into the Top 5 with a 1 seed in the works, just last week, now this… again😩

I read a comment once on here which said that the current version of CCC would f**k up the 2012 team if he had to do it all over again. He couldn't win in 2010 or 2015 with future All-NBA players at his disposal, he ain't winning jack this year, that's for damn sure (not that he cares)
