Adams not totally to blame

Pat Adams lives to call technicals..he waits for the opportunity to shine. Watch any game...he stares players down after he calls fouls

Tyler was the one to blame. He came in and fired up Hump ( he has encouraged Hump all year ) but it was the wrong move. Hump would have never done anything otherwise.
Just the wrong time to do what he did. NOt excusing Hump but if Tyler just claps and runs to the other end we have no tech and just maybe we win

Perhaps the most ridiculous take on the technical foul I have seen.

Wow, blaming Ulis for the T!! So he's not allowed to get fired up on the potential game winning play?? Sorry, you're wrong on this one. Did you ever play any kind of ball???

Ummm. Yeah I suppose we shouldn't cheer big plays anymore at Rupp..wouldn't want to rile anyone up.

I agree and said same thing at the time it happened. Ulis come running up to give the bro you a bad ass chest bump and the big Aussie got real excited. I agree if Tyler just walks to other end this never happens. Just a bad break.

Tyler is to blame?

Well this is a new one.
Blame is not the right word, but if the chest bump doesn't happen then odds are the ball spike doesn't either. The blame falls squarely on the ref who called it,he was not in position to see exactly what happened in the first place. It is entirely possible that he(ref)would have found some other way to screw over us in the remaining 9 seconds of the game.

The more I think about this the more obscene the whole thing becomes. It is just a little behind the USSR/US game in 72 when it comes to an official stealing a game from a team. I really think it was that bad.

Agreed about ulis instigating it. Hump was cool, calm and collected until ulis got involved. The video doesn't lie

You have to wonder why the officials didn't huddle and talk this over, in that it was going to possibly pick the game winner.

Happens in football all the time.

In these big Conference Games like this one last night when you have a call that big to make the refs should huddle and if the other 2 disagree it should be overturned after reviewing. There is no way with that rebound and no one around him he was intending to get mad or trying to fight someone before he threw the ball down. Humphries knew we had the 1 point lead and 9 seconds to play and he knew we grabbed the rebound and he was fouled he was going to the line for 2 shots and possibly winning. He was fired up and excited over getting the rebound and getting the Foul to go the free throw line for 2. I just can't believe they held that 'T' up over a game that had the 2 top teams in the SEC playing in a game with so much emotions running high. If he starts a fight after the rebound or threw the ball right at someone to entice a fight then call a "T". This was too big of game and to be in Overtime to call that 'Technical' .The 3 refs should have went over and replayed the rebound and Humphries throwing the ball down to see he was so fired up and thinking with 9 seconds to play and going to the line for 2 we was going to get the huge Win. There is nothing wrong in showing emotions in any NCAA sports games. Just like now in NCAA Football and after scoring a TD and getting penalized if there is too much celebration.

I think it was him and Hawkins. Not blaming them but he does look clam downed for a second and then those two came in and fired him up. But it was a huge play and I'm sure they didn't expect Humphries to do that.
