At the end of the 3rd quarter SC was driving the ball and was tackled at the 6 for a first down and goal to go. The officials flagged SC for unsportsmanlike conduct after the play and assessed the 15 yard penalty. On the first play the screen said first and goal from the 21 yards line. SC ran the ball for seven yards and the screen then said 1st and 3 yards to go. They ran again and was awarded a first down.
Since the unsportsmanlike penalty was assessed after SC had been tackled at the six yard line why were they allowed to make a first down? Seems it should have remained 1st and goal from the 21.
