I haven't seen this anywhere in the influx of posts, so apologies if this is a repeat post, but...

Dang.

Between Steve Johnson's catch in the endzone against LSU in '07, various photos of the team lifting governor's cups, solid action shots, and Smitty sticking his tongue out, UK football has given us some gems throughout the years I've watched.

Ulis's bloodied eye and WCS's stare-downs are, in my opinion, a reflection of the winning culture and history of that team. To put it bluntly, those photos go hard.

I can't recall a UKFB photo that gave me the same sense of strength, culture, and determination – until now. Feel free to post any pics I've missed below, but I firmly believe this image will go on a few walls.

JP, we think alike. I saw that exact tweet late Saturday night and I immediately sent it to my dad in hopes of using it to re-iterate the change that has taken place in this program thanks to Stoops, his staff, and the players they are recruiting.

My father has witness 50+ years of heartbreak, negligence, ineptitude, and disappointment as a UK football fan (some highs sprinkled in of course). It’s been tough for us over the years. Finally that tide has turned. In his words, “I’ve waited my whole life to watch a UK football team like this”.

When I saw this picture I thought of the 31 years straight where UF bullied us around. 31 years of UF having superior facilities, superior coaches, and superior players. I thought of Spurrier running up the score. I thought of the countless “KY boys” that suited up for the blue and white that just couldn’t compete with Florida’s blue chip players.

Never in my life could I have ever imagined a picture like this one. Where Kentucky is the bully. Kentucky is staring down Florida, daring them to try and do something. Daring them to even get up, telling them to stay down. Stay down! This picture is proof that the tide has turned. Richardson is defeated. UF is defeated, and there’s nothing they can do about it. They can’t search the bench for an answer. Kentucky is better. It may not last forever, but we’re better. Kentucky shoved Florida around and made them like it.

Enjoy this moment friends and fellow fans. Those who have endured years of this fanhood deserve it.

Kentucky stuns Florida, really???? Why isn't the headline. " Kentucky owns Florida"

The tackle by Wright on AR going out of bounds was about as aggressive of a tackle as he could make. Watching over and over looks like AR going to stiff arm and Wright does his arms like a windmill to knock it down and crunch him down into. Doubt AR gets hit that hard often. Wright a rough dude.

The culture of Kentucky football certainly has changed.
yea I remember one our players during the Mumme years talk about how only a few guys thought they would win each time they played UF. He said they were constantly trying to talk guys into not "quitting on the game".

Headline says Kentucky stuns Florida. I sure as hell wasn't stunned by the outcome.

Exactly. This was the most unsurprising victory of the last 5 years. I was celebrating, but not like in 18 nor last year. It's not NOT a big deal. It's still huge, but I expected to win this game (by more than 10 to be honest).

What was different about this year for me was that no one, not even the most negative of negative fans, would take me up on a friendly wager. They'd still talk sht about the football team (** mfers), but they wouldn't put their money where their mouth was wallerin. (Of course they still owe me a dinner at Tony's from 2018, so they don't even look me in the eye if I'm ready to put a wager down.)

We've got a good bit to get corrected before we play our best game, though. We'll need that best game to come at the right times this season to make it as special as it can be.

Excellent post, I couldn't agree more. We have physically whipped Florida for about the last 5-6 years now. Even when they won we were still the more physical team. The only team in the SEC more physical than UK is UGA. I plan to enjoy every single game as long as Stoops is at UK, because I've done my 50 years as well.

I gotta ask; how many mouthpieces actually picked the Cats? I didn't watch but all I saw was #15 being annointed as special.

I don't listen to em, so I'm not the one to ask. I saw someone posted that KHerbstreit picked us. Chris Doering picked us to go 11-1 with a loss to UT in the pre-season.
