This is premature, let me get that out of the way, but Maryland's recent hire of DJ Durkin may squeeze UK even tighter in DMV recruiting. Durkin previously recruited for Florida and Michigan, and is reportedly respected enough that he'll likely assemble a great staff. Throw in pre-existing competition, like James Franklin at PSU or Larry Johnson's 10 plus years recruiting the area (previously at PSU now at OSU), and things look set to get tougher.
On the flip-side, it may largely be a moot point. UK's 2016 class may only sign one player from the region, the 2017 class may be smaller, and it already has 6 commits. Ohio is reportedly going to have a lot of talent in 2017, and that might as well be in-state recruiting for the staff.
