As I was sitting here reading through these threads and really trying to intake the gravity of what the last few years means for UK basketball I think it’s time for the rest or maybe all of us to enlist some twelve step help. Let’s call it…
Calcoholic’s Anonymous
Below you will find the twelve steps of Calcoholic’s Anonymous
1. We admitted we were powerless over Calipari and our lives and program are unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity and/or program prosperity.
3. Made a decision to turn our team and our program over to the care of God, as we understood him.
4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of the demise of our once great program
5. Admitted to God, Mitch Barnhart and the Board of Trustees the exact nature of Cals wrongs.
6. We’re entirely ready to have god remove Cal and his shortcomings.
7. Humbly asked God to remove him.
8. Became willing to make amends to all fans and patrons whose money and feelings have been harmed during this destructive period of our program history.
9. Made direct amends to these fans and patrons with new innovative basketball solutions that leads to program wins
10. Continue to take program inventory and when wrong promptly do whatever it takes to resurrect the program.
11. Continued through prayer and statistical analysis to improve our climb back to basketball relevance, using only the numbers that allow for victories.
12. Having had a program resurgence as the result of these steps we try maintain these standards and never to allow another coach to become bigger than the program and a contract that we can always get out of!
Everyone is welcome the only requirement for membership is a desire to be a relevant blue blood again.
