A look into the future: Isaiah Briscoe

Point Guard U continues...

Rondo
Wall
Bledsoe
Knight
Teague
Harrison
Ulis
Briscoe

Briscoe will ... how shall I say this ... reduce the extent to which we miss the Harrison twins next season.

Just MHO, of course.

Go 'Cats ! ! !

Looks like he has better handles than Andrew....quicker, stronger and more explosive too...Andrew has the height.(not knocking Andrew which I know is forbidden here.....just pointing out differences)

Briscoe 6'3" ?? Looks shorter but may look that way cuz of bulkier build

A taller Bledsoe perhaps?

Just pointing out that every year Cal's had 2 quality PG's, a whole lot of wins have followed.

I don't remember Bledsoe having this type ball-handling skills....Bledsoe was a freak athlete though with LONG arms......Can't wait to see how Cal uses TU with Briscoe

I can't wait to see him play, is it Big Blue Madness yet, this summer is gonna last forever.

I think he will be more of a scorer next year playing with Ulis. He will still handle the ball, drive and dish or score. Will be shooting a lot of free throws. Can't leave him open. Our defense last year was built around our length and switching abilities. Next year our defense will be more in your face.

I'm hoping that Briscoe is like a Devan Downey, or the UConn guards of the past, guards that want to take over a game when its on the line. I hear comments that he needs some conditioning but we know that won't be a problem playing for Cal. I'm also hopeful that he's a tough bird on the floor. I also expect this team will go back to players playing closer to 30 or more minutes a game instead of 20.

I've seen some folks post that if we get Murray and or Brown, Briscoe may come off the bench. IMO, there is not a scenario where Briscoe doesn't start. He is gonna be as absolute star, and would even start over Ulis if it came down to it

In the NHS I remember seeing him airball and leave short some lay ups that were just flat out bad but then I turn my head and he has 20 points. At one point he hit a 3 or something then stole the ball for a lay up. I though after the air balls and blocking your own shot with the rim were a bad sign but he ended strong.

His measureables are what get me. He's a hair under 6'4 with a 6'8/6'9 wing span and has a rock solid outside linebacker 220lbs build with QUICK handles and attacking prescence. I always wanted Andrew to be a bully going to the rim for and 1s and he always air balled it or something. Hopefully Briscoe can be that tank. I remember Mississippi state having a big 6'4 230lb star guard back in the Patrick Patterson days that was a bulldog (no pun intended) and I think briscoe might be a lot like his style because I remember him always having his way wit us because of his strength. I believe it was jamont Gordon or something.

Another thing is this guy uses his left hand to complete a play better than anyone we've had in a while....great finisher...IOW, the ball goes in, not just trying to flail and draw a foul ;)

Yeah, I was hoping that was gone after Archie left but we had to watch several more do it after that. Briscoe is not going to frail his arms for sure but he will get the foul called and probably finish it too.

Hmm....Now who could you and catrecruit be referring to??? :D

Everything I have read seems to say he's coming in with zero ego, zero expectations about playing time, that he'll have to work hard for everything, and that he wants to contribute to the team in any way he can. Love the attitude, love the drive, can't wait to see this kid blow up!

He has potential to be fun. His vision was apparent in the all-star game circuit.

One major red flag in his game is his lack of athleticism. Its pretty glaring. Hopefully his handles allow him to create a lot of separation

Love this kind of attitude from a potential star. He is very good now. If he comes in with that drive and attitude, he will contribute to the team with 12 pts. 4 rebs. and 4 assists every night. (Potentially more scoring if Brown does not come.)
