I can 100% buy Mitch needing to unbutton the top collar and get in the game. However I think this jmi thing is self serving. Last week or so he tweeted something crying about how jmi wouldn't let just anyone cover some interview. I'm guessing ksr wanted to do it but wasn't allowed because jmi presumably paid alot of money for the exclusive right.
With the sec network deal none of these athletes are suffering from lack of exposure. So if I'm going to get on board with this criticism, I'm going to need more info. Otherwise sounds like he's crying because someone that paid alot of money isn't letting him have something for free.

He mentioned JMI because their rights deal with UK is very broad and they have say in what NIL deals players get and what they are allowed to do for those deals. For example, a player has to get permission from JMI to wear UK branded gear in ads or appearances. And if it's for a company JMI doesn't like, they can deny them the ability to use any UK gear/imagery in their ad, which as you can imagine is a huge part of why the company is willing to pay the player.
That isn't just jmi. That's in the compliance rules set up by the AOC. I agree they are stupid but any UK advertising partner gets that right. Not just them
Yeah, but JMI has much more power than most, specifically final say the use of any Logos/Images/video/media in general.
If it isn't them it would be UK or Nike. Noone gets to use a name or trademark this valuable for free. Whomever the check is made payable to really doesn't matter.

These same comments I see on this board about NIL are almost the exact same ones people were bitching and moaning about when the K-Fund was established.
People a. think money just grows on trees that Kentucky can just pluck whenever they need to pay for something and b. People bitching and moaning about market values and having to invest their money based on that and receiving the benefits from said investment and not because Grandpa Jim Bob donated 10,000 dollars in 1948.

Need to stop worrying about nil. just find the right boosters to slide the cash under the table so they don’t have to worry about it.
