I was there. My sister and I got lower level corner seats (just above the entrance areas) from a scalper just before tipoff for a steal. Best seats I ever had from a scalper! lol

Rupp Arena was absolutely electric. I've been to many games over the years (nearly 50 years worth of 'em) .... I never experienced a more raucous crowd or louder than that day. Anywhere. My ears literally rang the entire night and day after. Me and my sister had an awesome time, of course. Shame that team just went historically cold in the FF game against the Hoyas. Me and my dad followed the 84 team that entire year. As I recall, we only missed a few games (all on the road, we even travelled to most of the road games out of Nashville that year).

This was my all time #1 game ever to have witnessed in person for a UK game. Bar none (I never got to see them in a final four or title game).

Kentucky is just a crappy state when it comes to first round sites. UK only has Louisville as a viable option since we can't play at Rupp.

North Carolina has a lot more bigger cities and sites.

It kinda is what it is there.

Believe it or not, Duke has not played a tournament game in NC since 2015.

I can’t say the same thing for UNC

Nope. We won that game. Also beat them on their home court during a raging snowstorm. Had to get refs from the stands to call the game. UK WON BOTH!
