LSU has gone on its recent string of success without guard Jalyn Patterson and forward Brian Bridgewater, both who are battling injury. While those two aren’t starters, they are solid role players who can provide production off the bench.

Much of LSU’s recent success can be attributed to the arrival of big man Craig Victor.

In his first three games, Victor has averaged 12 points, just fewer than four rebounds, two steals and a block per game, all while shooting 61 percent from the floor. His addition to the Tiger lineup has been huge, and he will only get better. The 6-foot-9 transfer brings toughness to the lineup and has some skill to go along with it.

While Keith Hornsby made his debut against Houston, his impact the last three games have been big. On the season, he is averaging 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal.

We all kind of dismissed the idea that injuries were impacting LSU's performance early on because it's just been accepted that Johnny Jones was a bad coach.

While I still think the latter is true, they're certainly making a case that the former has had a big impact as well.

I still expect them to struggle to make the tournament, lose some more head scratchers in conference play and give us a game down in Baton Rouge.

I thought the OP was suggesting that Tai might have a similar impact.

I have always liked Victor's game. When you have a core of Simmons, Victor, Blakeney, Quarterman, and Hornsby you will have trouble defending these guys, once they put it all together. I predict that UK will struggle with their size and aggressiveness around the basket if they do not improve over the next two weeks.

We will lose at LSU. Talent wise,id venture they have more than us this year.

Whoa. Ben Simmons is by far the best player on the floor in that game and arguably the best in the country but other than him what positions are they more talented than us at?

I would love to see a senior Poythress rise up in this game and guard simmons. Poythress has always been known as more of a defender and has the capability to run/defend full court against Simmons. It would be an interesting matchup for sure.
