would think the sweep this weekend wrapped up a top 16 regional host spot. 2 out 3 from Florida would all but ensure a top 8 national seed, I would think. Might get one anyway if we win 1 from Florida, and play well in the SEC tourney.

I'll take the series win and I think we're in!!!

Win the series against UF and the national seed is a lock. Win 1 and still have a shot, though we may have to win 1 or 2 in SECT. If we get swept, things look tough.

I think at minimum we have to avoid a sweep. What is playing a factor, IMO, is the people around us. I still find it hard to believe that the SEC will have more than 2 national seeds. I could be wrong... maybe they sneak in three, and with a sweep of Clemson by UL it might happen, but I'm inclined to think it is just two. Florida and Kentucky are in right now, but that series, and the LSU series may determine just who will get to host as a national seed. If Florida wins 2 of three from Kentucky and MSU beats LSU in 2 of 3 then I think UK can still sneak into the national seed, and the SEC tournament might help one of those two teams. If UK loses two and LSU wins the series then LSU might jump over UK. If UK wins 2 then they lock it down pretty much no matter what IMO. They might, might, get bumped if LSU and Florida both make it to the SEC title game.

I think after the weekend that Clemson proved they were a fraud ! Over all I think the ACC is vastly overated! I know that neither of us has faced each others weekend pitching , but I still think UK is better than otis.

Well we were competitive with UL and we were competitive with UNC. I think in a three game series it could basically go either way. UK pitching can be a bit inconsistent, but if we catch them on a weekend when we have both Hjelle and Lewis dealing then we're extremely hard to beat. If we could ever really put it all together, close to what we did this past weekend, then we can beat anyone in a 3 game series.

I think that after UNC and Louisville the ACC becomes a bit suspect.

I think the top 4 teams (UNC, UL, Oregon State, and Texas Tech) are basically locks to be national seeds. I think that UF can move up or down depending on this weekend (as can UK). I think that UF won't fall out unless they have a huge collapse... like UK sweeps and they lose first round of sec tournament. I think UK is in with a few more wins, either this weekend or next, but must avoid sweep as well. TCU plays no one, but that can hurt them if they lose. If they get 2 wins they stay 7 or 8 I think. Then it is a bit of a crap shoot and maybe LSU could sneak in there with a series win over MSU.

Surely UK demolishing LSU earlier in the year would be an edge for UK over LSU. Maybe not.

Pop not expected to return for the Florida series.

I hope we can get him back before the Regional.

I kind of felt that this was coming the moment they announced he'd possibly be back in two weeks. Although I might have been kind of quiet about it before the series.

I think the magic number is 4 more wins. That is one win tomorrow and then 3 more wins distributed either in the SEC tournament or this weekend. If we sweep Florida then we're a lock IMO even if we lose game 1 of the SEC tournament. If we lose 3 to Florida, but we win three SEC tournament games then I think we are in. If we win 2 against Florida and win 1 SEC tournament game then we're probably in there as well. So, the key number for me is 4.

Honestly we need MSU to win 2 out 3 against LSU. That would help tremendously. But I agree I think 4 is the magic number for Kentucky.
