Let's come up with 30 stories about UK basketball we'd love to see.

1. One and Done (already in the can)

2. The Emery Package....what really happened throughout that whole ordeal

3. The Baron and the Bear...did they hate each other? Why did Bear leave?

The story of probation and Pitino and the Unforgettables is a good one, but it would begin with "Kentucky Shame" and end with the Laettner shot, and I'm not sure how much I'd want to see that.

Same with Gillispie. It's a shame that some of our best stories are ones we'd rather forget.

The Emery package would be interesting but but according to the terms of the settlement of the Casey lawsuit anyone who really knows what happened is prevented from talking about it

Of course the "Kentucky shame" probation story with Pitino resurrecting the program would be awesome.

Another I'd like to see could be called, "From kittens to CATS". The freshmen on the '74-'75 team (Givens, Robey, Phillips, and Lee) and their 4 year trek to winning a National Championship in '78, UK's first in 20 years. There were many memorable and historic stories woven into their time at Kentucky. Losing to UCLA in the championship and John Wooden's retirement, where he lost it toward the end of the game and how it affected the outcome. Beating the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers in the mideast final to go to the final four and this was after losing badly to them in Bloomington earlier in the season which was highlighted by Knights slap to the back of the head of Hall. Winning the NIT as sophmores and ovecoming Robey's injury that year. Opening up Rupp Arean in their junior years with Macy coming on board and then losing to UNC's four corners offense in the East final and Dean Smith supposedly calling Robey an SOB. Then their "all business" attitude their senior years going 30-2 and beating a freshmen Magic Johnson in the mideast final and then dUKe in the championship game with Goose going off for 41.

Chasing Perfection (I thought we would have this one after the 2015 season, it will have to wait, but can feature those guys talking about their season & the perfect season when it happens)

Big Blue Nation (this would showcase the fanbase, takeover of SEC tournament, message board, rooferees scandal, Big Blue Madness, travel to away games - even football fans).

Well then we should have fired him much earlier...

I wish I could have been in on firing him. I'd have had a foot in on kicking him over the edge of an eastern Kentucky dump site...

The Fabulous Five

The point shaving scandal and its aftermath

Rupp's Runts

Pitino glory (Bravo Pitino!) and his ignominious return (e.g. entering Rupp through the home team tunnel; flipping off the fans)

While I am not sure it would make a good "30 for 30" episode, the "Hiring of BCG" would make a seriously good case study for management studies. An examination of the process and procedures to hire a coach at UK, establishing the requirements of the job, the criteria (or lack thereof) in evaluating candidates, and the whether the unchecked fervor over A&M's defeat of UL was a driving force or was it that the Board perceived (and thus self-created) an immediacy to make a hire. Seriously.... it would be more interesting to study and discuss than most other cases.

In that way maybe but if it ends up studying BCG the man/ coach I'll pass...

How about a 30 for 30 of this board.
The time one poster of this board talked about needing a kidney and around five posters volunteered their kidney. I don't know what came of that but if he did recieve a kidney because of this board that would be a great story.

The BLW fake death.

A story on Bill Knightley
that's an excellent one
the one guy who tied all the coaches, except one, together

I'd also like to see something on the charity work and the number of kids "sponsored" by UK basketball players. How many stories have we heard, especially the last 8 years about our guys becoming friends with these sick kids?
