Three to unranked teams and UNC to #20 Duke at home. This on top of #10 and #13 losing to lower ranked teams yesterday.

So 6 of top 15 have lost in last two days plus LSU to put UK in sole possession of 1st in SEC.

Wowser!!!!

This should have been the year for us to grab a 1 seed. Once we see all 4 #1 seeds it won't look nothing like what a 1 seed should look like. Had we beat KU and UT I think we woulda end up getting on.

Outside of Villanova's cupcake schedule I wouldn't be surprised if any of the top 10 teams lose one or 2 more games down the stretch. I did a thorough search through last weeks top 25 wins/losses and came away believing that if we just play to our standards down the stretch that we can be ranked in the top 5 again, just because EVERYONE else is so vulnerable and we are playing pretty consistent right now.

Not saying it would happen, but it could.

6 of the top 15 tms. In the country have lost in just the last 2 nites but yeah UK has no shot at a 1 seed....Riiiiiiiggghhhtttt.....

Even easier than that. If we don't collapse at Auburn and at UT we would be currently ranked top-5 and projected as a #1 seed.

I don't even care about the seeding at this point as long as we're in the top16, location is going to be the biggest factor for Kentucky. Only 1 or 2 teams I was worried about, and one of those was UNC.. so.. yeah.

Just try and get a close opening round, and get into The South. I think having a "home court" like environment will be huge for us, and could be the difference between bowing out in round of 32 or a Final4.

Very good chance we climb into top 10 with wins tonight and Saturday. Puts us in the conversation for the last 2 seed.

This is why I was telling everyone to chill out a month ago (few weeks). People were screaming NIT, lol. It was easy to see if they just play to potential they could steam roll into a 2-3 seed. It's happening.

And also, as a few of us were saying, this team can easily go to the final four with the right path. Easily.

The NIT cries were ridiculous whining. After losing at Auburn I had sunk my expectations to a 5-6 seed with 8-9 total losses going into the tournament, with hope that like 2011 and 2014 we turned it on at the right time and made a run. We've gotten a lot better a lot faster than I expected, though. Even with yet another example of a "down" team putting it together and getting pretty darn good, though, I'm still sure in another couple of seasons when we're sitting with 4-5 losses in January we'll have fans freaking out, worrying about the NIT, saying Cal can't coach, etc. once again.

The seed doesn't matter to me as much as playing in Louisville. We need a lot to go our way to get a 1 or 2 seed, but it is surprisingly not completely out of the question, yet.

A lot of the teams ahead of us still play each other.

Villanova @ Xavier.
Miami @ UNC
Virginia @ Miami
UNC @ Virginia
Iowa St. @ Kansas
Oklahoma @ West Virginia

There are also other tough road games left for several teams ahead of us. If we win out, I can't see us at lower than a 2.

I say this before we play tonight, but we are peaking at the right time.

"Movin' on up"... again

We keep adding to the carnage! Two more ranked teams fall to unranked opponents. 23 Top 25 losses last week, This week we're up to 8 losses and the night ain't over yet.

So far so good, - 3,4,5,6,10,13,15,21 all fall this week. I was hoping that that #8 would lose to Wisky tonight but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

I think I would rather that #8 just keep on winning. Hopefully we both get 2 seeds because I don't want to see MSU til the FF. They play hard on every possession, they rebound well, they are a great shooting team and they are aggressive. I just think they are a bad matchup for us and I would rather not see them in the sweet 16.

Although I am as positive and happy for how this team is starting to put things together, I keep reminding myself they can do even better.

Defensively, they can improve even more, but I think it's a key for them to all get healthy so they can go all out on both ends without any letup on the offensive side (where we excel).

I still think they'll drop another road game, or even two, but I'm not going to fret over it if we do. Just somehow get AP back, get healthy by the time of the NCAAT, and we will be good to go with whatever seed we get.

Hey Ganner, what's up with your avatar? It's cool but the hat has a Loserville L on it. What gives?
