2024 schedule, 8 home games

Unfortunately I’m seeing 6/7 wins

Wins: 3 cupcakes, Vandy, SC

No chance: Georgia, Texas, Tenn, Ole Miss

Toss up: Lou, Auburn, Florida, I think we go 2/3, We always seem to drop a dumb one.

That being said it’s pretty hard to tell this early without our personnel
Yeah unless we nail the portal and coach it better than we did this season when we ‘nailed it’ 6 is no given.

Tough schedule if you're wanting a 10 win season. 😳
I can’t speak for everyone but I haven’t griped about stoops until this season. It just feels like we’re playing the same shell narrative games and still struggling with the same aspects of coaching we have since he’s been here. They expect improvement from players we should expect improvement in coaching for any amount of money but especially for 9m. I don’t poke at him because I think we should be at 10 all the time I gripe because I know it’s about to get real and this formulaic stuff we’ve done to say we got to bowl games and all that is going to break off some with the new conference. We still have our 3 easy games but Louisville is a competitive game now and inexplicably we’re 1-2 against Beamer. Other than Vandy I don’t look outside the non conference and say ‘well that’s a win’. Will we get something outside of Vandy? We should grab something somewhere but it’s going to take some earning at a higher level now than what it has taken the last handful of years with the East as it was when Odom was at Mizzou, muschamp at sc and satterfield at UL. UF may have a lot of their team back although Napier hasn’t shown anything. It’s make or break for him next year. I would never call any portion of the SEC easy but we’ve had as soft of a ride as you can have in this conference for the last several years and it looks to be gone for a while. And frankly if we were winning 6 or 7 against that schedule most people here would go ‘yeah that’s a solid accomplishment’ but we haven’t. We’re losing games to Beamer and getting blistered in more games than we should.

Why are we scheduling our 3 easy games to start the season? Nice to warm up the new guys but just makes for a bruta
SEC run.

The graphic is misleading. Check the dates. The OOCs are actually spread out. Everything else is TBD.

Been thinking for years that it makes more sense to spread out the OOCs to break up the SEC gauntlet. Also, playing them all early season like we have been just false hope vs lesser competition. It masks a lot of things that need to be fixed. Playing a tougher opponent earlier will help iron some things out sooner.

I think we play Southern Miss week 1, have a bye (there are 2 in 2024), host South Carolina week3, then Ohio week 4. Murray St & UL will be in November.

Seems like there were ALWAYS eight (8) home games in years when the the Louisville game was at home ... ???

Agree 100% and thanks for the correction!,

I actually like spreading out the non conference games like that instead of front loading the schedule with them. Helps break up the gauntlet. Just hope they don't plop Texas or Georgia in there as our first conference game. 2018 & 2021 had the Non-conference games spread out very similarly and we finished 10-3 those years.

Gonna have to hope Texas fails to adjust to the SEC or can somehow reverse history against two teams we are terrible against, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Otherwise 7 wins or lesser likely.

If they fail to adjust it won't be against us I'm afraid. They already won at bama this season and should have beat bama last season too.

Of course, gonna be several bama like games for them every season now. I'm curious to see how OU and TX do.

This spacing is far better than what we had this year. Strong indication that South Carolina will be week 2, which will be pretty close to a "must win" situation.

The season will likely hinge on our ability to win in the swamp, and our ability to win 3 of four SEC games at home (Doable, with Vandy, SC, Aubie, and GA the home draw).

Well they'll be losing those four on the road LOL. Anywhere from 9 and 3 to 6 and 6.

We do have a good quarterback coming in now though. 8-4 is my guess

The road schedule isn't as bad as people are making it sound.

CMS has the drop on Florida right now and has won there.

Ole Miss is beatable. We almost beat them last year, just shot ourselves in the foot with a turnover late.

Neyland is Neyland it's tough but nothing new. At the very least we're right there nipping at the heels of the vols. Heupel is all offense. We kept up with him this year. We upgraded at QB with BV, and LC will be in year two in a row (3 overall) and judging by the UL game is probably about to hit his stride.

Texas is Texas, unfamiliar opponent in an unfamiliar place. That's an animal but it won't be any more chaotic than the big sec houses this team plays in regularly.

I'm not calling wins, but they ain't all losses for sure either.

Glad to see 8 home games. UK used to be lucky to get 6 and that was only every other year.

If the nightmare that is Kentucky Football continues I could see 4-8 or 5-7 type season. I don’t think anyone would complain at 8-4 or possibly 7-5 next year.

Good grief, if you want truly nightmarish UK football, go look at most of the 80s, 90s, and early 00s. Aside from one year with Couch at QB, one year with Lorentzen at QB, and a few years with Brooks as coach, winning seasons have been few and far between. With the exception of 2020 (where we should've been 5-5, not 4-6, but were cheated out of a clear TD vs. Auburn), we've had consistent winning seasons since Stoops got us rolling. Can we strive for more? Sure, and we should! But please, stop with "nightmare" talk. It's silly.
