Zach Brown said that UK was his dream school growing up because of how the big men were used. #6 player in the class of 2017. Kid is incredibly similar to Dakari Johnson. Going into his junior year of high school, he's 7'1, 256#

2016-2017 and beyond is when we will finally start seeing the benefits of our early success with guys like wall and cousins. kids will have grown up watching uk and now nba greats.

Better hops, hands, touch, explosiveness then Dakari. He is going to be a good one.

dude looks pretty damn uncoordinated but at 7'1" with some meat on him all it'll take is some coach worth his weight in feathers to turn him into a monster.

Not many guys at 7'1, 256# that are limber and coordinated as a cat. True though.

A few things.

1. This was the 2nd 2017 Cal offered today, right? Ayton also? Looks like Cal is really turning up the heat on the 2017 class. I feel like this is kind of early for Cal, to be recruiting 2 years out, but I like the change. Sounds like he's changing it up a bit, trying to get everything lined up early.
2. We are finally starting to see the recruiting affects of Calipari on incoming classes. The 2017 class grew up in junior high and high school watching guys like Cousins, Davis, Noel, Randle, and Towns, They watched Kentucky compete every single year. This could be HUGE for recruiting. Might we see the 2017-2020 classes be monster hauls? Maybe.

Aside from a dribble to get closer to the basket, I don't think he ever put the ball on the floor once. He's going back up strong every single time, no hesitation. Good skill, we've had a bit of trouble with this in the past.

AYTON should be top priority I want him more then any other player ever and I hope we land him. Grab both those bigs and start 2017 class of with a Bang. Ayton could be the 4 easily with his skill set and Brown at the 5. That is a Title contender frontcourt as soon as they step on campus.

Uncoordinated and has a "Lazy Karl" walk. I like him, coordination is something you can work on.

Cant get to caught up in kids two , three years away. No one is commiting until they have some sort of an idea what the roster looks like, which is too years away from being known

He's not as nimble as the 7 footers were used to seeing in WCS Noel and KAT but he has something you don't see in bigs at such a young age and that's the awareness and ability to keep the ball high on rebounds and put backs. He never plays shorter than 7'1 because he keeps his arms fully extended. Something guys like dakari and Willie still have a hard time doing. He's clearly not a run and jump big man so I can easily see him being a skilled Mountain down low hovering at a healthy 280 by the time he gets to college. Physically looks like a young Andrew Bynum

he's an old school seven footer. you move bad when you're actually 7-1 unless you're shaq. all the guys you think of, are usually not actually seven feet tall. johnson was listed 6-11. this guy is taller and longer than johnson, but not as quick if that's imaginable, but that's how it looks to me. so old school again, you just sit him on the block and keep him there on defense. most teams would use a player like that in a zone.

would be interesting to see if he's interested in uk and cal for expanding his game. because i agree at first glance it doesn't appear he can go beyond his set position, as far as building skills like a face up game etc. but who knows his real potential. he's imposing as hell.

Normal high school sophomores are physically awkward. Gigantic ones get a little more leeway. Let's see how he turns out. That's true from a cautionary standpoint too. How good will he be as his peers grow and catch up physically? How hard will he work? Who will come out of nowhere to grow/develop?

Too early to go nuts over any of these guys. Thon Maker two years out seemed like the best prospect of the decade, and now no one wants him.

His highlight film's music repeatedly says, "it's Frankenstein".

That seals it, he's a monster.
