2017-18 Lindys College basketball Yearbook

Must have made it through the editors before Duke's latest signing.
I'm good with it though, I like UK at 5 to start.
I also think they have UL in the right spot, I've seen some rankings that show UL in the top 5.
Not sure about that #10 though.

I can't see TAMU in the Top 10. They may not even be the 2nd best team in the SEC either. Florida or Missouri may be better.

Decent top 10 imo, A&M is loaded. Kansas and Nova might be a couple notches too high. Xavier has got to be the most underrated team in the country.

A&M is loaded up front but have nothing as far as guards go. The Williams kid is a freak of nature, quite possibly the most athletic power forward in the country. I would put Florida and Bama ahead of them and maybe Vandy.

Gilder is a pretty good player, averaged 14 a game and is an above average shooter. JJ Caldwell was top 40ish last year and had to redshirt, he's a true point and they have another four star freshman point guard. Their backcourt isn't great but it's not bad either, better than Louisville's.

Forgot, they also have Duane Wilson a transfer combo guard from Marquette, he was one of their better players...averaged 12 points and four assists, their backcourt should be fine.

Wichita plays in Maui in November, Shamet was injured at the end of July and is supposed to be out 3 months. He should be back, but I doubt he is 100%.

The Maui field looks really weak this year anyway so it may not matter.

My Top 10

1. Duke
2. Arizona
3. Kentucky
4. Kansas
5. Wichita St.
6. Michigan St.
7. Louisville
8. Florida
9. West Virginia
10. Villanova

I just don't see how everybody is putting Duke 1 even with Bagley. They return 1 starter and will prob start 4 freshman. I would think Arizona, Mich St. would clearly be 1 and 2.

Michigan State wasn't good last year with mostly the same roster. They'll be much better but I don't see the Top 3 hype. Doubt they live up to that.

How many close games did they lose? I remember them being tough for about a half each game then fading the last 10-15 minutes of each game. That should improve with added experience and new talent.

Remind me why Kansas is so high. I thought Jackson and Mason are gone.

They pretty much bring back their whole team plus add at least one top 10-20 player. They will be tough. Duke and UK may catch them by the end of the season, but I would think they would be the best starting out.

It's not the same roster at all, last year they were a depleted team due to injuries and inexperience, guys playing out of position..won't be the case this year. I said they would suck last year after schilling and carter went down.

Newman, a senior Graham, a senior Svi, a junior Vick, adding Dok and Preston in the post (gives us two bigs this year versus one last year). I say we should be somewhere in the 5-10 range all season.

The players that everyone considers their main players were their main players last year, save maybe one freshman. We'll see but I think they'll disappoint given these expectations.

Ok. I honestly didn't know but I think it's more of a 10-15 type team.

You make a fair point in that their best players will be the same this year but consider those freshmen were top 30-40 range types except for Bridges (though Ward played like a 5 star), hard for players like that to carry a team but as sophomores they should be ready since they were all good as freshmen and are now experienced, battle tested and likely improved.

They'll also have five star Jaren Jackson, him and Ward should be an excellent front court but it also allows Bridges to move to his natural small forward position. Schilling and Carter's roles will be to provide quality depth instead of being counted on to be go to guys inside, last year they didn't even have those two, Ward was it, him and Bridges. They'll be deeper this year at every position. We'll see, should be an interesting season.
