De'Aaron Fox has been the latest recruit who really looks like he will be a Cat, along with Miles Bridges, Sacha Killeya-Jones and Markelle Fultz. All of these players would be excellent additions. I wish one of them would get the ball rolling and commit. Would love to add two skilled lefties (I am a lefty) to next years class in Fox and Bridges. I also think Ayton reclassifies to this class and joins the 4 mentioned above. I would love Rawle Alkins as well but I will take a commitment from either him or Fultz.

2016 additions
Fox 78% UK
Bridges 81% UK
Fultz/Alkins 48% UK/67% UK
Monk 28% UK (With everything going on with Ark, I see him as a UK lean hard)
SKJ 62% UK
Ayton (Even if he doesn't reclass or we don't get him, we still have Humphries/Lee/Wynyard to play the 5)

Returning Players
Ulis (Yes I think he returns)
Lee (Yes I think he returns)
Mulder
Matthews
Wynyard
Humphries

Would be a phenomenal team who would most certainly be the favorites to win the title.

I know there have been a ton of these threads created, but it is the offseason and until we can get some pick up footage of the team playing, recruiting is what is being discussed.

I thought Jerry Meyer's crystal ball cracked into a million pieces this weekend after Heron chose Auburn and Fox didn't include Texas in his final list of schools.[winking]

It seems Cal is extremely high on the 16 class, which is exciting considering the classes he's had at UK. I don't really expect anyone to sign early, I've just gotten use to that.

It kind of did in the sense that they just aren't as informed on some players as they are others. They pretty much tend to follow perception, which can be accurate for some situations and others, not so much. Each individual recruit has their own thing going on, and sometimes things happen off the radar, like Heron to Auburn. It seems like that relationship developed rather quickly and Heron found his home and didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. The crystal ball can still be a valuable source for recruiting information, you just have to take that info with a grain of salt, which is true of just about any source when it comes to recruiting. Things change fast.

hard time buying that fox (who some are comparing to john wall) will come to uk if ulis is on the roster as a starting PG. maybe he would, it has happened before, just seems unlikely to me.

That's weird that you think that. It didn't deter Briscoe and Murray. It didn't deter Wall from playing with Bledsoe. I realize that each individual is different and that at most schools this would be a problem, but Cal will play the best players and he's proven that he can play point guards together. I think Ulis and Fox would be sick together.

Brisco/Murray and Wall/Bledsoe.....do you see what each has in common?

i know its difficult...but think really really hard. you can do it.

Well I don't even know who this "Brisco" character is, is that like Crisco? I don't know man, It doesn't happen very often but I'm truly stumped, you're just going to have to fill me in on this brain buster.

I know we are in with a bunch of really talented guards, but I hope we end up with Monk over the rest of them. I like Fox and hope he decides on Ky, but there is just something about Monk being a future superstar I can't pass up on. The kid has hops and can shoot the 3 ball. I don't think we have had that elite type of talent in the NBA at the shooting guard position and I believe Monk will end up being that guy. With that said, Fox is also a major talent at the point guard position and even though we have John Wall at that spot in the NBA, I do think Fox will end up being a star in the NBA and we need him here at Kentucky. Hopefully the kid decides to give the verbal to UK before someone else beats him to it and we potentially end up with someone not as talented with not as much potential.

Monk is at the top of the list for guys UK has a legit shot at - besides Giles - who will have a real shot at a max contract dollars someday. He'll likely play some point guard in the league, and his jump shot is improved and his athleticism is obviously otherworldly. If he continue to develop as a ball distributor, he could end up as Calipari's greatest scoring guard.

If I had to choose today who I'd like to make the commitment first, it would be Monk.

Hmmm - Andrew Slater just picked Fultz to UK, and as I've noted before, Slater is one of the best Crystal Ball prognosticators out there. Better than Meyer even.

His picks are almost always based on concrete info, and not just a wild guess like many on 247.

Thinking we may hear a lot more on this recruitment within the week.

He also had us for Fox BEFORE he trimmed his list and ousted Texas. Has us for SKJ and Bridges as well. Hope he's right on all 4....

Anyone is better than Jerry Meyer. Good grief...How anyone puts stock in that crystal ball crap is beyond me.
