2014 Louisville sweet 16 game

I thought pre-game we were underdogs, and after that start I thought our chances were slim. I didn't quit watching, but when that put back by Dakari went in with the foul, I nearly ran through the front door.

Que the people who said they knew UK would win the whole time..

Didn't think we were gonna win at all. Still was screaming we're still in this and yelling when we screwed up

Not only were we down 18-5, but Willie was gone with what was pretty obviously a game ending injury. Looked bleak at that moment. But by the half I felt better.....

It was my birthday at midnight. Best gift ever. I thought we were toast so many times. The key play of the game was a ball that rolled around several times before coming out that would have put them up eight or nine late in the game. From that point on it was all blue.

I thought we were in trouble when WCS went out.

I was in a suite with one other UK Fan, a Tennessee fan and two Michigan fans and then about 18-20 UL fans.

When Harrison hit the three, myself and the other UK Fan and the one UT fan jumped out of our seats. UT guy tossed his popcorn in the air.

We all looked around at the stunned silence of the
Birdbeaks.

Still one of my favorite feelings. Silence.

Then the excuses started. Good times in Indy.

Yessss. That was an amazing amazing amazing moment

I walked out of Lucas Oil on cloud 9! Best feeling I've ever had walking out of an arena. Had 2 UL fans sitting right in front of me running it the whole game. They would turn and look at me with their shit eating grin pretty much the whole game l, especially when they were up 18-5. I didn't say a word. When the buzzer sounded they turned and looked and I waved goodbye. Of course they flipped me off! Whiny lil bitches. Worst part was that the bars were closing and I had to celebrate in the car. Expensive tix. Worth every penny!!!

Cool stat about that game...after being down 18-5, we outscored them 69-51 the rest of the way. We kept hanging in there, but I remember when we were down 66-59 with about 4 minutes to go I thought it was over. The boys just kept getting stops down the stretch. The defining play was Poythress getting that huge rebound and put back where he got fouled. His FT tied the game at 66. We outscored them 15-3 in that final 4 minutes of the game. I lost my mind when that game was over. I'm 33 and that ranks up there with the Duke '98 game and the Ohio State Sweet 16 game as the most satisfying wins in my life.

Scary game. I'd witnessed too many Pitino tournament steamrollings and being on the other end of it was absolutely sickening.

Somehow we survived then Aaron put he dagger in their eye.

2nd most satisfying victory behind Duken 98 for me.

The meltdown on their scout board after that game will never be matched
Their tears were so delicious. They were so sure of themselves going into that last stretch. Already plotting stuff they were going to post over here.

When Harrison blew the run-out layup with less than two minutes left, I was convinced that was it, but then they kept just pissing down their leg with turnover after turnover.

I was so excited about that win, I encouraged my staff at work to dress up in sombreros and mustaches to celebrate....

Immediately rewatched the whole game after reading this thread. Questionable calls both ways, but the refs allowed Cockhands to do the heisman on everyone the entire game. Never seen someone get away with pushing off his defender as much as he did. It was a great game though, both teams played really hard.

I never declare a game over until probably 6-7 minutes to go in the second half. I do that because there's a good sample size on how we have played to that point and how big the deficit will be to make up.

I had a confidence that entire game, we were better than them and I just knew once we got in a rhythm, they were ours.

Is this the game where their message board played out every call, with a video clip and sent it to the NCAA? I have several UL fans swear that they believe this game was bought and paid for by WWW/Phil Knight/Lebron/Drake .......

I was more worried down 7 or 8 with 5 to play.
Julius, Alex and Aaron were huge down the stretch of that game.
Aaron with the dagger from the corner!
This. I mentally prepared myself for the loss at that point. Made the comeback all the more sweeter.

Walking out of that arena surrounded by a 50/50 split of giddy UK fans and somber UofL fans was surreal and pretty freaking awesome.

UL fan behind us was very obnoxious hollering his "L1C4" and "L -Yes" all through the first 7-8 minutes. My high point was being stuck in game traffic watching the "trail of tears" heading south on 65 with their sad faces and line beards.
