Nice catch. It certainly appears he’s now a Wildcat based on his Twitter account.

Longwood finished in the bottom 4 of the Big South.
The winner of the conference was Campbell who is playing in the Knoxville regional.

12 HR's this year is nice but looks like he could strike out a bunch.

With what’s returning on the current roster and the class we have coming in, we have no choice but to load up on transfers again. Not an idea way to build a roster hoping guys from longwood somehow can compete in the SEC.

Now I know we are going in hyperdrive with all the transfers but I thought it was somewhat commonplace to have a good handful of them in baseball. Thought this was used as a tool to help navigate the 11.7 scholarship rule?

I think that typically the idea is to supplement your roster with them. So getting them isn't bad, but ideally you don't rely on them all the time and you don't stack a roster with them. Especially in year 6/7

I like that .406 OBP from this past season by him

It seems like a good addition/replacement for Plastiak

If you’re using the portal to build your team annually, it essentially means your high school recruiting and development is not so good. Not a winning formula. As Comebak said, a couple are fine just not the whole team.

Well, he did say Plastiak replacement.

He has his work cut out for him if he wants to catch Plastiak
I disagree. Aside from the occasional, unexpected home run, there were entire weekends that would go by without Plastiak even putting the ball in play. Not THAT much to live up to at the plate.
Defensively, Plastiak did some great things.

I meant that he has his work cut out for him if he wants to catch Plastiak in strikeout numbers.... where Plastiak broke the UK single season record. Seemed like Plastiak hit a home run or struck out, rarely anything in between.

He did become a very good defensive 1B though. Never seen us throw out so many people at 3rd on sac bunt attempt to the right side of the infield.

Uh.... I think we were referring to his strike out potential. At least, I was. Don't want to speak for Comebakatz3.

have to disagree a bit with the good defensive first baseman part, how many outs did he give away by not being able to read a fly ball in foul territory?

That is true, he was pretty bad at that. Which is kind of strange given that he should have been comfortable doing that as a 3B. Still, he did well fielding bunts and by the end of the year was pretty comfortable digging the ball out of the dirt/turf. I think he probably saved Ritter from a few throwing errors with those digs.

I just misinterpreted what you two were saying then. Lol. We are all on the same page about Plastiak at the plate then.

And yes, @Ghost of Cliff Hagan, I do agree his foul pop judgment was quite subpar... Lol. But I can recall numerous picks and stretches that saved us and, as CB3 mentioned, many plays on bunts where his reads and throws were fantastic.
