After all of that, we are essentially exactly where we started.

Still have the profile of a 3 that they will call a 4.

Still in position to play our way to a 2 (maybe).

A little more banged up though.

Wonder if we will get dinged in the polls?

I haven't looked at the polls to see who would move up for sure.

Getting a 3 would be nice.

Might be the difference between first round games in St. Louis vs Denver/Spokane

Actually 12th in RPI at this moment not sure what site your using for RPI but it is not correct.

This site is 100% always correct as it duplicates the NCAA formula used and is updated within minutes of each game finishing.

I'm using ESPN's RPI, which is updated daily.

I don't know why there is a slight discrepancy, but the teams are extremely close.

I also don't know why you say your source is right and other are wrong. Is Warren Nolan an official endorsement partner of the NCAA or something?

I always refrain from talking about refs but I am so bitter about that call against Humphries. These kids played their asses off to essentially wrap up the SEC title and keep moving towards a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament then that jackleg makes that call. It's wrong and there is not a dang thing that can be done about it.

As was pointed out yesterday, 8 is closer to 17 than to 7. The margin between a 2 and a 5 is incredibly close. The last 2, which is nova's.

The metrics are so close that the committee will be able to place teams anywhere within 2-3 seed lines and still backup their case.

Winning your league should go a long way - which makes that garbage last night even worse.

We were a 4 going into that game and a 4 coming out. Unfortunately, the front line ranks, thin before, are really thin now. The big question is what price do we pay over the next few games till we can get some guys back into the line up.

There's no excuse in UK not winning out and winning the conference tournament. That will make us a 2 seed in the tournament (or it should.)

If we don't then it's just poor execution and poor coaching.

If we are missing Willis and Poythress, winning out won't be as routine as you imply.

Some pretty good UK teams have gone down to Vandy and taken an L.

I don't see anyone out there that should be beating Ulis and Murray as long as lee can just give us something.

I basically agree, except for the fact that I've seen what happens on the road in the SEC.

Vandy has blown their season, but they are talented and enjoy quite a homecourt advantage.

I guess I just can't agree with the no excuse if we don't win out. On paper, 3-1 the rest of the way would be a fair result, especially in light of our roster situation.

I hope I'm overly cautious.

We would definitely be underdogs in Nashville and likely underdogs at Florida even with Poythress and Willis. So if we lose a game we're supposed to lose, that's culpable?

Our defensive efficiency rating at kenpom took a beating last night. I think our offense was ranked 10th and our D ranked 38th before the game - and now we're 7th and 46th. So O is up, D took a hit. I guess that happens when you give up 22 offensive boards and 22 second chance points.....

no one in this conference has players as good as Murray and no one has a player in the hemisphere of Ulis. We should take it.

We have managed to go 4-1 and the lone defeat was last night at A&M in OT since Poythress left the starting line-up. Now with Willis out and his 3-point shooting that will hurt us but with Murray & Ulis and they have been extremely hot and hitting from 3 they wil be fine. We just need another player to step-up and we have heard Matthews name mentioned but his offense just isn't there right now. Briscoe hit a 3 yesterday and he did shoot in High School at 35-36% but I believe Briscoe does so much better shooting his 12-15FT. shot and not taking the 3. He seems to have a nice shot from the 12-15ft range. We also need to play Humphries more if he doesn't get in foul trouble. He would had a double/double with 25-30 minutes of playing time. We have 4 games and yesterday Willis scores 3 on 1-4 shooting and we stayed right there and should have won on the road at a Top 25 Texas A&M team losing in OT. We will be fine in the next 4 games. The one game that is always extremely tough is at Vandy next Saturday. Just need to stay focus like we have been in last 5 games and finsih 24-7 headnig into SEC Tourney play.

Hell, I think everyone but Oregon and Indiana lost below us this week (at least up to the 20th spot or so). Unless we get punished again (technical being first), I'm not sure that we don't stay where we are in the polls.

we would just have to jump one of them.
I don't think that's unreasonable.
It would be VERY tough though. Xavier is 24-3 and has Nova at home this week. They could solidify themselves as a definite #2 seed with a win. I do think the Big East is vastly overrated though.

Michigan State is 22-5 with their last 4 being at Ohio State, Penn State, at Rugers, Ohio State. They won't go any worse than 3-1 in those and that is if the Buckeyes beat them Tuesday night.

I'm surprised you can count to four.
