After six stellar years at UK, I think this would be a great time to remind ourselves of some of the great things about John Calipari, and some of the amazing things the UK basketball team has experienced since 2009.
I'll start:

1. 38 - 1 record in 2014 - 2015

I know he is undefeated against Bill Self while at UK. Jaysquawks can't touch us. Invincible and it eats them up.

John Calipari, along with Jim Watson and Francis Crick, co-discovered the structure of DNA in the late '50s.

Faithful to his wife, his kids are all great. Ellen keeps him grounded. Gives back to his community. Wants the best for his players and their families. Selfless.

I knew little about cal previously but this is what I've gathered about him first hand.

Never has he done a single thing to disrespect our program. Gotta love Italians.

Spot on, you nailed it

I heard once that he invented standing in line. He said that people were just milling around so he said 'hey, why not a line!?"

...oh wait, that was Michael

To me the greatest aspect of Coach Cal is that he fits this job perfectly. He gets it. His first 6 years were amazing. Yes would've been nice to have added another banner or two, but he literally could have gotten 5/6. That's simply amazing.

I'd say going as far back (and maybe especially so then) as Adolph Rupp, far more people in Kentucky know who our basketball coach is than they know who the governor is. And in that one YouTube clip showing Benerick coming to Rupp for the first time as Loserville's coach, they then have Tubby come out and it's a wonder they didn't play "Hail to the Chief" during his entrance. That's how big/important our coach is, folks. And sadly for Billy Clyde he didn't quite get that and thus only lasted a couple years.

The most awesome about John Calipari is that he discovered penicillin. Of course, I'm allergic to it so it don't do me much good, but still....
