#1 Reason why Cal&UK has no worries

Where other teams need to pay to get players. These players would have to pay Coach Cal to attend here. UK picks the 8-10-12 players they want. They recruit them against a handful of teams and get their fair share.

Well, that and cheating is wrong.

This is why I also feel Duke and Kansas will not be tied to this either. These teams for the last 6-7-8 years haven't needed to cheat to keep pace. They are the pace-setters. Arizona and Louisville saw they were losing sight of these programs and the Pitino's underlings and the guys at Arizona chose to go the route of cheating.

I'm a little bit worried because you just never know what decisions an 18 year old or their families can make behind your back. A program could find itself in trouble through literally no fault of their own.

I so wish Illinois was involved in this after many in their fanbase basically slandered us and said we paid for Davis.

You might be right. There are a lot of questionable events that went on there, but I think those fall outside of cheating. Difference between taking young guys who make mental mistakes(lack of a better word) versus taking money to attend the school.

Cliff Alexander could have taken money without Self's knowledge. I can't fault him for that.

Duke, UK and KU do not have to cheat. They are all basically established blue bloods with the track record of sending 1Ndone players to multi million deals...on a fast track basis. UofL under Pitino had a track record of ruining highly regarded recruits who may have had 1Ndone expectations. Pitino til the end did not play frosh...so certainly they had to pay $100K for a kid because he'd be ruining their NBA prospects.

Yes, but like Cal and his assistants(not that any of them did it anywhere else) Duke guys dont have to do that there. I know bad habits are hard to break, though. So, it's completely plausible that he has found a way to break rules. I'm just not willing to say so without proof. Just like we ask when people say Cal cheats.
