    Richie Saunders staying at BYU

Dang! He figured to be a strong contributor

    Oklahoma guy visiting

We aren't going to sign 10 players who averaged 10+ points per game with 40+% 3 point shooting with a sizeable number of attempts. Those players are in high demand. 1-2 of those type of players is much more realistic and then we have to fill out the roster. Oweh had 55.5 TS% and had an obscene...

    GYERO

I wonder if that team is worse with Dakari Johnson. They are probably better in the first half of the season, but I am skeptical they reach their full potential. It's not because Johnson is a bad player, but because Cal can be a dumbass. With Johnson, we have Poy, Lee, and Skal in the front...

    GYERO

That team had potential but was another instance of Cal not playing one of his best players. Willis was easily one of the 3 best players on the team but averaged less than 20 minutes a game for the season and didn't get the regular starting position until past the midway point. Cal rolls with...

    Saunders a CAT

Saunders averaged almost 19 points per 40 with a 61.4 TS%. He only had 15 turnovers for the entire season and just 4 total during B12 play. Saunders shooting efficiency and his sure handedness should make him be a strong contributor next season.

Torvik todays rankings were at 111

Don't mind the ranking. This team is built for March.

    Richie Saunders on Campus

He'd be a great add. Last season, his TS% was over 60, and he only had 15 turnovers total for the season. Impressive. Rebounds well at his size as well.

    I'm starting to think Dillingham

The Maxey team had Richards, IQ, and Maxey in the started lineup along with a renowned defensive pest in Hagans. They failed to finish in top 50 of Kenpom's adjusted defensive efficiency. Overall, they barely cracked the top 30.

I had no idea how bad basketball used to be in the past

Interesting fact is that the game was much faster in the 60's than today despite the lack of a shot clock. The prevailing strategy was to race down the court and get a shot off early before defenses would be set. There were a ton of possessions and oodles of missed shots. It's why the great bigs...

    GYERO

Spending half of the season trying to make DJ Wagner a focal point of the team was a wild success.

    GYERO

I found GYERO to be more optimistic than BBN at large in it's initial reaction to the hire.

    Jeremy Roach in the portal

Roach had a TS% approaching 60 and had a good turnover rate for a high major program. He would be a quality addition.

    Jones update on roster construction

Khalifa had 60 TS% during his last season at Charlotte. Sure, the defending is better in the B12, but that’s not enough to explain his dismal shooting last season. Perhaps he had an injury or some other issue hindering his ability.

Why are so many so gloom and doom about not getting top 10 recruits to fill our roster?

We want to have the best collection of college players on the team, not necessarily the players that NBA owners think will be a good pro when they're 24.

    The longer we go…

We are all on the edge of our seats waiting for the first domino to fall, but it's still early yet. Cal has been at Arkansas for however long, and he just got his first commit today. Once we get our first, the pace will pick up.

    New portal guy

Yep. Brea, in particular, had a TS% in excess of 70!!!! He would be a nice piece. A number of the other guys were in the higher 50's to low 60's range. Aly Khalifa was right at 60 TS% during the year before last, but for whatever reason, his shooting turned to crap at BYU.

Starting to think Pope did a purge with his players meetings

By following Kentucky basketball for the last 15 years. I have no inside knowledge, no contact giving me scoops. I have paid attention to the flux in our roster year to year. It's a simple matter to extrapolate that pattern.

    New portal guy

There are a lot of pretty good players out there. We don't need to have the players who are projected to be the better NBA player at the age of 24. We need to have the best collection of college players. The best college players aren't necessarily going to be the best NBA players, but they...

    Cals Entitled Players

That's the deal brokered by Cal. That was his message. We can't act surprised when the players behave in a manner in line with the expectations set by the guy who recruited them.
