Zion Harmon has switched programs on the Nike EYBL Circuit after just one weekend of play.

He was originally with the Bluff City Legends out of Memphis (formerly Team Penny). He played last weekend in Dallas. The star studded team, which also features James Wiseman, D.J. Jeffries, and Jonathan Lawson went 2-2. From information we have received, Harmon was looking for a new place to play immediately after the weekend was completed. He found that team, when it was announced this morning that he would be joining Bradley Beal Elite out of St. Louis.

Officially, Hardaway is no longer associated with the program he helped found. But at a minimum, his influence there is still widely felt. The Head Coach of the 17U group is Penny's cousin. and former Tennessee Volunteer guard, Lamarcus Golden. One could look at statement's that he has made, and concur that Hardaway hand picked Golden for the position after he left for Memphis. When he made that move, the program's name changed to give the impression that he is no longer a part of it.

Hardaway casts a big shadow on the grassroots basketball world. Harmon left Boo Williams for the Memphis organization. Boo is considered the kingpin of the AAU world, and virtually no player has left his team voluntarily to play elsewhere. Take into account that this was sweet revenge for the Bradley Beal group. Last May, they lost James Wiseman to Team Penny after the third spring session of the EYBL circuit. Wiseman also transferred from Nashville Ensworth to Memphis East High School, where Hardaway was also the Head Coach.

Harmon is one of the very top players in the Class of 2021 at this early stage. He played in the 17U EYBL league last spring and summer, and averaged in 12.8 points per game, which is unheard of. He could have legally been playing 14U last season.

He attends Adair County High School.
