This is just another bad loss for UK, which is actually common place in Cal era and has been for years. While many got carried away with the win the other night, the reality today smacked us fans with is this: UK is a rim roll away from being 5-3 with 2 losses to mid majors. At home.
This team has a high ceiling and might do special things, but remember who strolls the sideline and many more tough games remain. While everyone was thinking top 10 the other day… this team could very well be 20-11 after conference play. Teams will spread UK out and destroy the Cats off the bounce. ALL YEAR LONG!
This team has some good individual defenders, but is a terrible team at team defense. TERRIBLE. If that doesn’t improve, then there’s simply no reason to get too excited.
I like these guys and will hope for something special, but today was further evidence that there are serious issues defensively. 8 games. 4 games with 80 or more points surrendered.
Maybe having a shot blocker will change this trend!
