Final day speaking with Stoops before the opener.

* Good walk-thru today, guys are ready. Just kind of tired of talking, want to play. "Long camp, long week, because everyone's just excited about getting to the game."

* Lack of experience at LB keeping Stoops awake at night, but he thinks those guys (Davis, Oats, Square) are football players. “If they make mistakes, it will be at 100 mph.” Says those young guys are players.

* Cats must be on point Saturday, Stops says. MAC teams wont beat themselves. Good to open the season against someone that forces you to be prepared and ready to compete. "You can't just roll out there and win a football game against this team... You have to play well."

* Stoops: "I have a good idea of what this team can do, but we haven't seen it yet, so you never know."

* Eager to see how Terry Wilson responds to being “live,” taking contact for the first time. He has not taken a hit in a long time. Ball security has been good in camp, but tough to gauge.

* Stoops said staff will script the opening drive maybe to help ease Wilson into things. He's been amped up in the past. Will try to settle him down.

* Walker Wood has been a good scout team QB. Brings a lot of energy to the table. "Pisses us (defensive coaches) off at times." (Laughs)

* A lot of good athletes available for special teams. Eager to see those guys play and find out if they've got some Walkers and Mousheys this season.

* No captains yet. Team will decide that tonight or tomorrow.

* Cats will recognize Paschal and Schlarman with decals on their helmets this year. Also have wristbands that say “Schlarman Strong” and “JPon3,” the latter is how the team breaks huddles.
