Sampson is too old. Pearl is getting up there but I’d still be okay with a 5 year run.
Better than cal, and would bring us an old team ready to compete next year. I agree Sampson should be considered if things get past billy and Hurley

Sampson has always been a good coach. He just got caught with his hands in the cookie jar one to many times. He is also 68 years old. His time is nearly done.
I don't care for Pearl but we may end up with him. He is 64 years old.
Donovan is 58. He still has 7-10 years left.
Golden is a pearl acolyte. I like his demeaner and think he could turn into something good. Good second tier option.

If all the top choices flame out. I say you just go get Todd Golden. Good young and up-and-coming coach. With the portal and NIL, I believe he would do just fine.
Sampson is the guy who as an opposing fan would scare me the most. The dude can coach, he can recruit, and he’s a proven winner.
Not a bad list. I favor Golden more than Pearl or Sampson just due to age. Haven't seen enough of Iowa St except their results this year
Also something to be said for paying the full buyout and throwing the bank at Oats
Sampson won the Big 12 in his first year in the league. Taking it away from kansas. He should been the first choice in the first place
It’s about priorities, if winning now is the goal, Sampson should have been the first call. IMHO
100% we'd go Pope before Golden. That's why I'm not worried one bit. The floor is Pope and I'm good with that.
