This is a post for those worried we're loading up on mid-major "talent" and it's not elite enough for UK.
The problem with "talent" in college is it's so often confused with potential. Take DJ Wagner, is he talented? I would say he has a TON of potential, but as a frosh he wasn't ready to reach that potential. Thus, his "talent" doesn't translate to winning. This is happening more and more and because the NBA drafts based on talent and untapped potential (not reached potential) so 5 star talent is often stripped from college before reaching it's potential.
Now you take 4 star players, in some cases 3 star players, who have reached their potential over the course of a 2-4 year college career and they are no longer "locked in" at their school. They have freedom of movement so they can assembly themselves onto a cluster of teams. These teams, now full of players who have reached their potential are ready to take down more "talented" rosters teaming with untapped potential.
Add in emotional and physical maturity and you can no longer win championships with freshmen dominated rosters.
