* Dominating win by the Cats as they crushed Auburn by 32 (and they scored the last 7 pts of the game) who could creep onto the bubble …they may need another win or two. Today was the explosive play we thought this team was going to display coming off our summer performances …good to see that it’s possible when those outside shots start going in.

* Our primary 5 now have found a bit of a groove. Each of them has improved individually and collectively as a team. We got good play out of each today. Oscar with 22/17, Toppin with 13/12, Wallace with 19/9/3/4, Reeves with 21, and Livingston with 6/2 limited by foul trouble. We can compete with those 5, now we need some bench production.

* After a slow start, the Cats won the rebounding battle by +18 … 14-15 from the FT line. Cats were impressive from the 3pt line 8/13 … Reeves (4/7) can get on a roll. Overall 56% from the field. After 8 TO’s in the 1st half, the Cats finish with 12 for the game. A strong performance by the Cats today.

* Bench play: This is where we need to elevate our game in order to take that next step up. Adou had an eventful few minutes (pro and con) when he was in the game, but we can’t have him as the primary ball-handler. Ware and Collins can provide spot minutes. We need them to hold their own when in the game. It was good to see CJ back, but he appears to still be hurt. And, we need to know what the deal is with Wheeler - we need his ball-handling against pressure defense. We can win with our main 5, but we need at least 3-4 players to give us some solid bench minutes in order to make some noise in the tournament.

* Up Next: Cats take on a much improved Vanderbilt team in Rupp on Wednesday night. The Cats won at Nashville, but they played without their star big man. This will be a difficult game - but it is a game we must win.
