This would be on brand for Louisville. There's a large portion of their fanbase who still pines for anything Rick Pitino and Tom Jurich. Richard's numbers do not scream "I should be at a top 10 program" and they know that but when you're being turned down left and right and one of your pro-Louisville media members is lying about fans making death threats to potential coaching hires, I guess it's just easier to say yes to someone familiar. If he's hired, he'll win the presser and the local media will fawn over him because he's already been there and he's a Pitino but he's pretty mediocre imo. Guess they'll do what fans do and talk themselves into believing he's his father though.
