How do we replace the scoring and balance that these three tremendous shooters, who shot 44.4%, 44.7% and 52.1%, respectively, from beyond the arc and provided almost 48 points a game ?? It seems to me that unless there are consistent scoring threats in the Freshman recruiting class, we will simply HAVE to recruit several QUALITY portal transfers to be better next year. With poorer outside shooting, if that ends being the case, we will struggle.

Without addressing who will be coach ... very simply, what kind of roster and personnel do we need to be a better team next year ??

First you find enough NIL money to keep Reed Sheppard home. Second you go out and find another Oscar type rebounder. Or at least a guy who can be a double double machine. Let Z play the 4 if he comes back. He’s more of a face the basket type guy anyway. If Oscar had managed to come back for a super senior season with those guards, we would still be playing and would have been a number one seed. The reason we weren’t when he was here was because we didn’t have those kinds of shooters. At least none that could all be in the floor at once. The offensive changes we made would have allowed Oscar to not have to be quite the scorer he had to be. But his rebounding, especially on the offensive end would have made us deadly despite Cal.

With more shooters. Travis Perry c'mon on down! Lexington is a big upgrade from Eddyville!

Unless there’s a generational talent like Anthony Davis running around anywhere, next year’s roster doesn’t make a difference if Calipari is occupying the head coach position. It’s not worth wasting an ounce of thought on the roster until Calipari is gone.
